Arriva Shipping is a short-sea shipping company founded in 1972. We move your valuable assets at sea! The vessels operate mainly in Northern Europe.

Arriva Shipping was founded in 1972 by Johannes Matre as a family-owned shipping company. Today the company is located with head office in Ølensvåg and branch offices in Stavanger and Gdansk. Arriva Shipping owns and operates in total 9 selfdischarging dry cargo vessels ranging from 2,000 to 8,000 deadweight tons. The company also uses hired tonnage, from 5-10 vessels, either on T/C or on commision basis. Arriva Shipping offers Norwegian and European industrial and entrepreneurial businesses flexible and reliable maritime transport services. The Group has about 175 employees and had a turnover of MNOK 694 in 2025. Typical cargos are concrete and asphalt aggregates, coal, coke, minerals, gypsum, timber/logs, salt, general cargo and project cargoes.

Bringing our captains together.

Last week, our captains gathered for Arriva Shipping's Captain Conference. This year, we met in Gdańsk, home to one of our company offices (Arriva Shipping Polska).

These meetings provide an important opportunity to meet face-to-face, strengthen relationships between our vessels and shore organisation, exchange experiences, and get to know each other better.

A sincere thank you to our colleagues in Poland for their warm hospitality and for helping make the conference both productive and enjoyable.

Good discussions, valuable input, strong engagement, and a reminder that our people remain our most important asset.

A special moment for Arriva Shipping 🚢✨

Our newbuilding MV “Norfonn” has now been successfully launched at the yard in China.

We are excited to share this milestone and look forward to the next phases towards completion and delivery.

Arriva Shipping has today taken delivery of MV Norsund.

We would like to thank all involved parties for the cooperation throughout the project.

The vessel will shortly commence her journey from the yard, entering service under her new employment.
