It is with deep sadness that we have received the news that His Majesty King Harald V of Norway has passed away.

The King had been hospitalized for 10 days. On Thursday morning, shortly after 9:00 a.m., the Royal House announced that King Harald’s health had deteriorated. The King died at Rikshospitalet on Friday at 06:35, after having been hospitalized with a blood disorder for over a week.

Harald V became King of Norway upon succeeding his father on January 17, 1991, becoming the first Norwegian monarch born in Norway in 567 years.

The King was also an accomplished and very passionate salmon fisherman. We have not only lost our beloved king - but also a fellow salmon fisherman.

He was the people’s King – a man of the people, our King. He will be deeply missed.

The king is dead, long live the king! 🇧🇻

Another salmon season in the books. 🎣

It’s been a good one, with two salmon in the bag and, more importantly, plenty of great experiences and memories along the way.

Alta River was, however, a disappointment — remarkably quiet and almost strangely dead. That certainly leaves me a little concerned and thoughtful.

All in all, though, it’s been a fine season, and I can’t really complain. Målselva and particularly Lilleng has delivered to the highest degree.

Time to shore the boat into the sunset… and hopefully towards even better fishing ahead next season.

Remember those ten thousand casts which was mentioned in an earlier post..well..they were definitely cast during our stay in Langstilla…not effortlessly- only fruitlessly..salmon fishing…
But such a nice experience..Altariver 🫶🏻
