The organization´s mission is to support emerging economies with the introduction of capacity building enterprise, from which industry specific capabilities will emerge, in order to support the growth of maritime based commerce. (SOS INTL), focusing on the deployment of Norwegian technology, expertise and experience in developing maritime markets. Originally founded in 2013 in the small city of Ho
rten, Norway as CT Maritime Consulting, it provided a technical portfolio of services to the Norwegian maritime shipping and offshore marketplace. Shortly thereafter, it expanded its core business to include commercial maritime development, to better support its Norwegian clientele. Joining forces with the Shipping and Offshore Services International late 2016, the consulting company was reorganized and rebranded as the Norwegian subsidiary of the development group. As a member of an international development group, SOS Norway operates as a vertically integrated maritime business development and solutions provider. Our diverse portfolio of services brings maritime capacity building tools as well as capability increasing assets to our maritime shipping and offshore clients looking to operate in economies with an underdeveloped maritime industry. It is a unique approach to commercial development as it requires a synergy of business disciplines, strategic partnerships and alliances. As an international company providing industry expertise in emerging maritime economies, we focus on developing human capital resources to enhance the region´s capacity and to create capabilities not currently available but required for real growth. Resources we developed are:
• Vocationally relevant education/training institutions to create value in the indigenous economies;
• Regionally sustainable maritime sector support services;
• Financial vehicles in which European commerce can safely invest their foreign capital and expand their maritime interests. and develop their maritime interests. Our cooperation with commercial and public-sector organizations is critical in our development process. As collaborations, partnerships and strategic alliances, we work to ensure that the development of resources has and/or serves a commercial purpose for our clients. At later stages, we intend to expand our product and services portfolio with additional leverage by taking brokerage and representation positions to create percentage holdings in product results.
