Together with Indigo Power Pixii has delivered a community battery project at the historic Old Beechworth Gaol in Victoria.
The system combines:
- Backup power for critical local operations
- Increased solar self-consumption
- Community energy sharing
- Wholesale market participation
What makes this project particularly interesting is the combination of grid-forming capability, DC-coupled solar operation during outages, and value stacking in one integrated system.
The Beechworth battery is also the first of seven community battery deployments Indigo Power is rolling out across regional Victoria and southern New South Wales.
A strong example of how energy storage can support both local resilience and more flexible energy systems🔋⚡
