What if buying solar for your garage roof was as simple as buying a washing machine?
We’re used to thinking about rooftop solar as an installation project.
You find an installer.
They assess the roof.
A system is designed.
Components are ordered.
There’s mounting, electrical work, paperwork, installation…
That makes sense for a large commercial rooftop.
But what about a garage? A shed? A small extension? A carport?
The roof may have plenty of potential for solar, but the process can still be surprisingly complicated for a small installation.
That’s one of the questions we’re now exploring at Over Easy Solar.
We’ve spent the last years developing prefabricated vertical solar for large flat and green roofs. Now, with support from DOGA’s Design-driven Innovation Programme, we’re partnering with Pivot Industridesign AS looking at how some of those principles could be translated into a completely different use case: small flat roofs.
We’re still at the development stage, so there’s a lot we don’t know yet - and that’s exactly why we want to hear from people who might actually use it.
If you have a garage, shed, carport, extension or another small flat roof:
What would you need from a product like this?
What would make you trust it?
What would make you hesitate?
And what would make you say: “Yes, I could install that.”?
We’re listening.
