Stinger Technology is proud to be one of eight owners behind Tau Autonomy Center (TAC). TAC is a dedicated facility established to advance testing, training, and qualification of autonomous systems 🦾

Since 2020, TAC has provided a controlled and versatile environment for both subsea and aerial drone operations. This enables reliable validation of remotely operated and autonomous technologies under realistic conditions ✅

At Stinger, we actively utilize TAC to test and qualify both our in-house developed solutions and our clients’ subsea equipment. Access to this type of infrastructure is critical to ensuring that systems perform as expected before deployment offshore 🌊

For our clients, this means greater confidence in the performance and readiness of every solution we deliver.

The high season looks good on a project report. Fewer delays, tighter schedules, more jobs completed on time. What that report does not show is the number of people who spent this month living out of a bag to make it happen 🧳🌊

We build technology that makes offshore work more efficient. But efficiency still runs on people willing to travel constantly, adapt fast, and do demanding work far from home, week after week 🦾

So we just want to say thank you to the Stinger team for keeping standardized operations running through the high season. The pace is real, and so is the appreciation 🙏

We are proud to announce that Stinger Technology has been selected as one of eight Norwegian companies to join the 2026–27 Launchpad for Innovative Norwegian Companies (LINC) program 🌟

Organized by NADIC, FFI, and Innovation Norway, the LINC program connects innovative Norwegian companies with U.S. service providers to help address critical national security challenges while strengthening market access and collaboration opportunities in the United States 🇺🇸🇳🇴

As part of the program, participating companies will engage with the U.S. defense ecosystem, gain exposure at leading defense trade shows, and connect with the broader Team Norway network in the U.S.

Styrking av samarbeid mellom Norge og Italia – med fokus på subsea robotikk

Kjekt å delta på Italy–Norway Business Forum i Roma, som samlet sentrale aktører fra næringsliv og beslutningstagere fra begge land.

Svært relevant arena for å utforske hvordan avansert subsea robotikk og autonome systemer kan støtte kritiske operasjoner innen:

- Energiomstillingen og offshore operasjoner
- Grønn maritim sektor
- Forsvar og sikkerhet
- Beskyttelse av kritisk subsea infrastruktur

I B2B-møter hadde jeg gode dialoger med partnere og interessenter om hvordan lette, modulære ROV- og AUV-løsninger kan bidra til mer effektiv inspeksjon, overvåking og intervensjon i krevende miljøer.

For Stinger bekreftet dialogen tydelig det økende behovet for dual-use subsea kapabiliteter – som bygger bro mellom offshore energi og forsvarsbehov.

En stor takk til Den norske ambassaden i Roma og Innovasjon Norge for å legge til rette for en svært god samarbeidsarena.

Vi ser frem til å videreføre dialogen og utvikle konkrete partnerskap i det italienske markedet og internasjonalt.

From competitor to project manager, Stinger Technology CTO Truls Munch-Ellingsen has been involved in the TAC Challenge since 2021 🙌

This month, students from across Norway will gather at the TAU Autonomy Center to tackle the same autonomous mission, each bringing their own ideas and approaches to the challenge 🌊

Today, Truls serves as Project Manager for the TAC Challenge, working alongside representatives from TAC, Oceaneering, Equinor, Blue Logic, and other industry partners to coordinate the event and help prepare students for the competition.

We are proud to see Truls helping drive this initiative forward and contributing to an event that connects students, academia, and industry around real-world autonomy challenges 👏

As Truls puts it:

"It's fun to see all the students preparing for the same task. They have different approaches to solving the mission. I also enjoy seeing the industry partners coming together to support the students."

The TAC Challenge showcases the value of collaboration between industry and academia, helping students gain hands-on experience while developing the next generation of autonomy and engineering talent.

From workshop to offshore operations, adaptability is key. Anna Maren, Drone Developer and Pilot, plays a hands-on role in both developing and operating subsea systems 🌊🤖

Her role reflects the flexibility required in subsea and offshore technology. It combines hands-on technical work with operational responsibility in the field.

Onshore, in Stavanger, Anna focuses on maintenance and readiness of ROV systems and offshore equipment, while also contributing to the development of new solutions based on real operational needs 📍 Offshore, she takes on responsibilities as a supervisor and inspector, ensuring systems perform as expected in demanding conditions.

Her path into the industry is anything but typical. After 11 years working as a hairdresser, she made a decisive shift following an allergy-related career change. She went on to study mechatronics at the University of Agder, building the technical foundation that led her to join Stinger in September 2021 🎓

What stands out in Anna Maren’s story is not just the transition, but the mindset behind it, which included adapting, learning, and applying new skills in a completely different field.

Today, she values the variety of work and the continuous learning that comes with it, along with the strong team environment at Stinger 🤝

It’s a reminder that building robust technology also depends on building adaptable, capable teams.
