I believe this is real.
Arriving at this belief was a thorough process and has consumed many hours of my critical thinking for the last week.
But this NEXT week - even the next 48 hours - can make a big difference in potentially millions of lives.
Calm is the order of the day.
So is kindness.
And...
So are competence, intelligence and sober thinking.
I am experiencing zero fear.
I am also prepared, and have taken steps to do my part, which will continue.
This respectable writing from Amateo Ra is a thorough look at what's going on, and I am in a very similar frame of mind.
Read this.
Then judge for yourself, and if it makes sense, act swiftly to do what you can.
We got this.

From Amateo:
Alright, let’s get real about Coronavirus for a moment.
I’ve been following it closely for about 5-weeks now, since I saw some of the initial outbreaks in China and then spread to Italy. It was clear from the start that the exponential spread of this makes it extremely serious.
Here are some practical insights from my research & my own non-expert 2-cents…
+ It’s Still Early - People don’t realize how early it is still. We grew over 30% in cases over the last 48-hours, but as tests start to become more available, we’ll 100% jump in cases in a matter of days. We are approximately 11-days behind Italy, so expect full quarantine lock-down of major cities - only grocery stories, pharmacies & hospitals will stay open. The State of Nevada alone has only tested 172 people - as testing amplifies, you’ll start to see the real-impact in our local communities. We are currently at just shy of 170k cases currently - we’ll likely see 20 to 100-million cases before this starts to fade by exponential trend mathematics. It’s early, it’s real, and growing fast.
+ The US is doing a terrible job reporting numbers on testing - I’m sure some of it is a cover-up, and most of it is just straight overwhelm, unpreparedness and/or incompetence.
+ Hospitals are about to be overrun and lacking critical supplies. Example, New York State has only 3,000 ICU Beds, which means access to respirators and are already at 80% capacity. Try to avoid hospital visits if possible, see how you can offer any excess supplies you may have - avoid getting the virus at all costs, because you don’t want to be admitted in this chaos.
+ Importance of Social Distancing - Can’t stress this enough. Many of us are blessed to have homes which are safe. Stay inside unless absolutely essential to leave or you can reach remote places in nature. Quarantine is risk reduction of the highest-order. The sooner we stop the spread, the sooner we can resume some form of normalcy. Encourage all influencers and leaders to encourage their followers to practice social distancing.
+ Collaboration & Support Systems - Critical we come together to build digital groups and support systems. Create What’sApp and Messaging threads, Facebook Groups, etc. with your family, local friends & distant friends. Build your communication networks first, then build your resource networks - and ensure those in your network and local community can reach one another and be able to exchange resources if necessary - and you can do so without interacting with people.
+ Curfews & Mandated City-Wide Quarantines Coming Soon - Soon major cities will have mandatory quarantines and curfews. The more stubborn people are, the more likely we are to hit martial law. Be prepared, Cities will be forced by government bodies to close down. Nationwide curfew has already happened in many Middle-East Countries.
+ Intermittent Fasting - Now is a great time to reduce your caloric intake and practice intermittent fasting. Eating 1 to 2 meals a day can reduce your impact on rations - so ration responsibly. Ensure you have 1 to 3 months of food and rations on hand.
+ Stop Going to the Gym & No more events - Should be obvious, but the fun is over. Stop it immediately. No bars, gyms, restaurants - and reduce ordering take-out due to contamination.
+ Fiscal Responsibility - Buy what you need for survival and to have your rations on-hand. But reduce excess spending to ensure you have funds if possible in savings, we are in a tight squeeze. Sterilize all of your cash and credit cards. Possibly cash shortage and/or cash ban coming.
+ Economic Impact - Clearly, the economy is coming to a halt. Every form of industry will be greatly affected in the short-term. There are mass lay-offs already happening, it’s economically tragic. People can’t pay their bills, rent & mortgages - we’ll see defaults wide-spread. High possibility people will be risk-averse with their investments, meaning coaches, healers and entrepreneurs may be affected. Although there is some opportunity also present, don’t soullessly capitalize, collaborate.
+ Food Shortage - We have not yet hit a food shortage. Food suppliers are struggling to keep up, but we will see shelves re-stored and waves of panic buying, so just operate intelligently. Food shortages could be coming if food supply chain breakdown occurs, and we see contamination via groceries.
+ Sterilize Packages - Many of us will continue to leverage the resources of Amazon and delivery services to support our isolation efforts. Contamination can still happen in the supply chain and stay on surfaces, so sanitize your packages with Lysol before breaking them into your home.
+ Ignorance - It’s not brave or not giving into fear to live your life and be in social settings.. It’s stupid. And your contributing to the spread of the Virus. At scale, you could be contributing to deaths.
+ Use the Time Wisely - Now is a good time to build and work on long-term projects, build infrastructure for your business, write that book - focus on the long-term in business, and the short-term in quarantine and self-resilience. Educate & home-school children. etc.
Stay Informed Responsibly - Get informed from the right sources. I’ll share links below in the comments to credible outlets - don’t let people speculating on Facebook be your source of news.
+ Bad Takes - There is a grossly unfortunate and mind-numbing amount of bad takes and toxic insights on social media and around the World. People denying the existence of the Virus, thinking positive thinking & spirituality will protect you, etc. Don’t feed the ignorance. Compassionately try to inform accordingly, where appropriate.
+ Fear & the Virus - Sure fear can be dangerous, but in this instance fear is warranted on a mass scale. If fear drives people into quarantine, the better. No shame for having fear or for being fearful. Use fear as fuel where necessary, yet no need to fuel fear and pour gas on the flames or panic unnecessarily. Just be prepared and focus on FACTS not FEAR. You can remain neutral in the face of FACTS.
+ Build Your Immunity & Stay Sanitary - Lots of resources on this online, so going to keep this more meta-data, rather than on those specifics, perhaps for another post or some of the community resources.
+ Too Much Conspiracy Bu****it - In my honest opinion, this is not some Global agenda, and some engineered conspiracy to depopulate or whatever crackpot idea you’ve been hearing. No government, no system, no secret societies have any incentive to crash the Global Economy, put the worst strain on critical infrastructure in modern history, over-run hospitals and put their own families at risk of dying. Feeding conspiracies is part of the problem, preventing people from operating at the level necessary to be present with the humanitarian crisis we are facing. I won’t debate this in comments and I will delete conspiratorial arguments - no time for that right now, spare me.
Clearly, the effects of the Virus are systemic to infrastructure, not just those Infected, at a magnitude we have never seen in our modern era. My heart and prayers go out for all of those working in the health field, hospitals, grocery stores, police departments, the list goes on - Let’s ensure our local civil servants have everything they need to the best of our ability.
Regarding timing on how long this will last…
Expected that we’ll see closures and for quarantine and mass closures to last for at least 2 months to 6-months, until the smoke clears. Be ready, stay prepared for us to collaborate and buckle down. I do expect power and utilities to stay on and active for the time being.
