Gyalpo Losar is also called as Tibetan New Year that begins near the end of the year on the Tibetan Calendar. Gyalpo Losar is observed for two weeks by the people of Sherpa, Hyolmo, and Bhotiya communities.

But the first three days are important and the second day is the main day of Gyalpo Losar. On the first day, they Changkol. It is an alcoholic drink made at home. The second day is the important and main day where people of Sherpa, Hyolmo, and Bhotiya communities wear their cultural dresses, make cultural food, dance their cultural dance and celebrate. The third day is also a special day of getting together and feast.

If you are living in Kathmandu then you can observe Gyalpo Losar celebration in Tundhikel where Sherpa, Bhotiya, Hylmo communities people get united and celebrate their Gyalpo Lhosar.
