p02 tundikhel

an open public space near the heart of the city, tundikhel is rooted in the cultural fabric of kathmandu. an underutilised piece of land that has the potential to act as the lungs of the city as it filters air and reduces temperatures within the microclimate. it has the potential to significantly improve public health while providing a refuge for our native species of plants and animals. a green tundikhel would be the start of a regenerative kathmandu.

p01 new road

this visualisation mainly focuses on how new road, the economic heartbeat and cultural core of kathmandu, can be pedestrianised, the benefits it will have and the opportunities this will create. pedestrianisation of streets has numerous economic, social and environmental benefits such as reduced congestion and pollution, while also promoting social interactions and improving business. redesigning new road without traffic allows for additional trees, greenery and furniture, opens space for street vendors, cafés, performers etc., and makes the walking experience more lively and enjoyable.
