Visa Appointments open for Family Reunion/Study/Employment Visa BUT:

Nepal was designated as a country with significantly elevated risk of infection (virus variant area by the Federal Republic of Germany) with effect from May 16, 2021.

Therefore, entry to Germany, even with a valid visa, is generally banned for passengers who have visited Nepal during the last 10 days.

Therefore, transport as well as first entries to Germany are currently not possible.

This means, that you can apply for a visa now, however it is not guaranteed that the visa can be issued in time for your intended travel, if the aforementioned travel ban is still in place.

In case timely travel is not possible, you have to submit new documents for a later date of travel (e.g. new Job contract, new admission letter of the university etc.). In case of rejection of withdrawal of the application, the visa fee cannot be refunded.

A Schengen Visa is the document issued by the appropriate authorities to the interested party for visiting/travelling to and within the Schengen Area.

The Schengen Area is comprised of 26 countries that have agreed to allow free movement of their citizens within this area as a single country. Of the 26 countries bound by the Schengen agreement, 22 are part of the EU and the other 4 are part of the EFTA.
