we Offering to you Annapurna Trekking OCT/NOV 2013
Truly a journey with many rewards, this trip is an adventure, and a veritable feast for your eyes. You will reach deep into the heart of the Annapurnas, where you are surrounded by 360 degree views of its impressive peaks.
We start at Dhampus-Phedi and move steadily towards Annapurna Base Camp (4130 meters), passing through Gurung villages, terraced fields, whistling waterfalls, and the humdrum of daily life in the mountains.
Pretty soon, the world of snow and ice starts to surround you. Panoramic mountain vistas get more beautiful and imposing, until you can feel their soul.
A diversion to Ghorepani on the return route provides a view of Dhaulagiri from P**n Hill.
Detail Itinerary for Annapurna Base Camp Trek
Day 01: POKHARA [920M] (6 HOURS DRIVE, OR 20 MINS FLIGHT)
Pokhara is a major city in Nepal, and also where we start our trek. The drive from Kathmandu is 6 hours, as you follow the Trishuli river. You can choose to take the short flight instead, and spend more time in Pokhara. We can also spend an extra day in Pokhara, and take in everything the city has to offer.
Day 02: POKHARA - DHAMPUS PHEDI - DHAMPUS [1680M] (3-4 HOURS)
We drive to Phedi, and then start our trek. We dive into the trekking experience head-first, as this leg is actually among the steeper legs of our journey. We reach Dhampus, a quiet and picturesque Gurung village and spend the night there.
Day 03: DHAMPUS – LANDRUK [1590M] (5-6 HOURS)
We are greeted by panoramic views of the Annapurnas and Macchapuchre as we wake up in Dhampus. After breakfast, we leave for Landruk, walking through villages, farms, sheep pastures, and small teashops along the trail. We stay at Landruk, a large Gurung village above the Modi river.
Day 04: LANDRUK - CHHOMRONG [2120M] (5-6 HOURS)
We head out of Landruk, cross the Modi river, and walk through the forests on a gradual incline up to Kimru ridge, from where we descend down to the Kimru river. We ascend to Jhinu Danda, and have lunch by the hot springs, after which we move on to Chhomrong, our hilltop retreat for the night.
Day 05: CHHOMRONG - DOBHAN [2670M] (5-6 HOURS)
We follow the stone steps down from Chhomrong to the suspension bridge across the Modi river, and then climb up to Sinuwa. Views of Machhapuchhre tantalize us as we navigate the thick forests on to Dobhan where we spend the night.
Day 06: - MACHHAPUCHRE BASE CAMP (MBC) [3700 M] (6-7 HOURS)
We follow the trail upwards, passing Himalayan hotel, and the Hinko cave at 3,100 meters. We climb on to Machhapuchre base camp (3700 meters). As we climb, we get closer and closer to Machhapuchre, and the hike is replete with magnificient views of the mountains.
Day 07: MACCHAPUCHRE BASE CAMP - ANNAPURNA BASE CAMP - DEURALI [4130M] (8-9 HOURS)
We wake up early and enjoy the sunlight bathing the mountains at MBC, and continue on to Annapurna Base Camp (4130m), the highlight of our trek. As we enter the Annapurna sanctuary, we get mind blowing views of Annapurna south, towering above us, so close you can feel its breath. We also get views of Machhapuchre, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Hiuchuli and other peaks, and return to Deurali to sleep at a lower altitude.
Day 08: DEURALI - CHHOMRONG [2120M] (6-7 HOURS)
We follow the same route we took on the way up, but because we are descending, we can cover a longer distance this time around. We stay overnight in Chhomrong.
Day 09: CHHOMRONG - TADAPANI [2590M] (5-6 HOURS)
Today's walk starts off fairly easy, going through the Gurung village of Ghurjung. After that we make a steep ascent to Tadapani, from where we get more panoramic views of the Annapurnas. The forests on the trail are home to langur monkeys, allowing for a chance to spot some.
Day 10: TADAPANI - GHOREPANI [2785M] (6 HOURS)
The trial descends through thick forests to a stream, after which we start our uphill journey on to a ridge. After that it is a more leisurely walk into Ghorepani where we stay the night, preparing for our early morning trek to P**n Hill tomorrow.
Day 11: GHOREPANI - HILE [1430M] (7 HOURS)
up early for the 45 minute hike up to P**n Hill, where we prepare to be floored by the views as the sun rises, bathing the mountains. You can see the whole Annapurna range, flanked by Dhaulagiri, and Manaslu on either ends. After breakfast, we walk on to Hile where we stay the night.
Day 12: HILE – NAYAPUL – POKHARA [920M] (4-5 HOURS)
We make our way down from Hile, through Sudame and Birethanti. We cross the suspension bridge to follow the river leisurely towards Nayapul where our vehicle will be waiting to take us back to Pokhara.
