WHY YOU SHOULD SET NEW FITNESS GOALS IN SEPTEMBER
September is here and it is time to set yourself some goals for in and out of the gym. With it being September everyone is going back to school, university, and coming back off summer holidays. This makes it the perfect time to get back on track or start your fitness journey. In this blog we will go through the importance of setting goals and talk about some of the goals that you may set yourself.
BACK TO SCHOOL, WORK AND UNIVERSITY MENTALITY
Since schools go back in September it is often seen as the end of summer and time to get back into routine. This is the perfect mentality to have as you can set goals and motivation will be sky high. The first goal that you should set while you are in this mentality is to stick to a routine. Come up with a realistic routine that you can build around your work schedule and try and find the best time to go to the gym or exercise within this routine.
HOW TO ADD THE GYM INTO YOUR ROUTINE
Going to the gym takes up roughly 4% of your day if you are training for 1 hour. Lets say you are aiming to go to the gym 4 times per week, have a think of which days you have the most free time on and then designate these as your training days. You also need to decide what time of day you will be training at. If you are an early riser and prefer to get the gym done before work then sleep is extremely important. Going to bed early and getting 7-9 hours sleep before waking up early to go to the gym will mean you are not negatively effecting your training with lack of sleep. When setting a routine, sleep as a whole is one of the most important factors as you feel more motivated after a good sleep. If you are someone who would prefer to train after work, make sure you are eating well throughout the day to ensure your energy levels are high for that post work gym session.
