H. H. the Dalai Lama when asked what surprised him most about humanity , answer "Man. Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Thank he sacrifices money to recapture his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then he dies having never really lived.
परम पावन दलाई लामालाई मानवताबारे तपाईँलाई कुन कुराले सबैभन्दा बढी आश्चर्यचकित बनाउँछ भनेर सोधिँदा उहाँले भन्नुभयो "मलाई मानवले नै सबैभन्दा बढी आश्चर्यचकित बनाउँछ किनभने पैसा कमाउनको लागि उसले आफ्नो स्वास्थ्यलाई बलि चढाउँछ । त्यसपछि उसले गुमाएको स्वास्थ्य पुनर् लाभ गर्नको लागि त्यसरी कमाएको पैसालाई बलि चढाउँछ । अनि त्यसपछि उ भविष्यको लागि यति चिन्तित हुन्छ कि वर्तमानको जिन्दगीमा उ रमाउनै सक्दैन । यसको फलस्वरुप उ न त वर्तमानमा न त भविष्यमा जिउँछ; उ यसरी जीवन व्यतीत गर्छ कि मानौं उसको कहिले पनि मृत्यु नै हुने छैन अनि त्यस पछि वास्तविक रूपमा जीवन नजिएर नै उसको मृत्यु हुन्छ"
