Read the insights from the Maramche Agroecological Village in Annapurna Rural Municipality, Kaski District. This community of 36 agricultural households is leading the way in adopting integrated agroecological practices. Their collective effort fosters environmental stewardship, and , and community resilience.
With the support of Shree Pragatisheel Agriculture Cooperative and Annapurna Community Seed Bank, they’re eliminating chemical fertilizers and pesticides.

Mr. Indra Adhikari, a progressive farmer, exemplifies how merging indigenous knowledge with agroecological methods can create sustainable ecosystems.

[Publication] Farmers Field School Manual on Pollination Management |
Pollination boosts yields and quality for over 75% of global crops, yet it remains largely overlooked in Nepal’s agriculture. This Farmers Field School (FFS) manual aims to build awareness and capacity among farmers and agriculture technicians for pollinator conservation and pollination service management. It covers key topics such as pollination importance, pollinator decline, and agro-ecological practices including pest, soil, and nutrient management.
Developed through FFS sessions in Jumla, the manual’s principles are relevant across Nepal and similar smallholder farming contexts worldwide.
This manual is an output of the “Embedding Sustainable Pollination Management into Nepalese Agricultural Systems” project, funded by the UK Darwin Initiative, and led by the University of Bristol in collaboration with LI-BIRD, HERD International, MoLMAC, AFU, and TU.
