Sithi Nakha is not just a religious festival, itโ€™s a community ritual of environmental care and a reminder of sustainable living rooted in tradition๐Ÿ’š

Sithi Nakha marks the beginning of the monsoon season - and traditionally, itโ€™s a communal cleaning day. Wells, ponds, stone spouts (dhungedhara), and water sources are thoroughly cleaned. Drains and courtyards are swept to prepare for the rainy season. It reinforces the importance of water conservation and community health. By cleaning water sources before monsoon, people prevent pollution, ensure clean drinking water, and reduce the spread of waterborne diseases.
