Hello All,
I'd like to invite all of our students to a Guest Lecturer Session on the theme -Critical Reflection on 'Rural Development Practices.'
It is my humble request that all students arrive in the classroom by 6:45 a.m. The Guest Speaker for 17TH Bhadra; Friday is Bimal Kumar Phuyal .
Mr. Phnuyal is a student of ‘economics’ and ‘development studies’; started career as a ‘development professional’ in 1985 being associated with an international development organization.
Involved in popularizing ‘participatory approaches’ (PRA, PLA, PM&E) since 1990; piloted ‘participatory and critical pedagogy’ (Freirian REFLECT approach) initiatives.
Worked based in London, UK, from 1996-2002; conducted action-research and TOTs in over 30 countries of Asia, Africa, Europe and Latin America.
Country Director of Action Aid International in Nepal 2008-2017.
Member of ‘High Level National Education Commission (2018)
International Visiting Fellow at University of Sussex, UK; and University of Coventry, UK
A member of international editorial team of the journal ‘Participatory Learning and Action’, published by IIED, London
Founder of ‘Lifelong Learning Mandala’ (2020-2022); and, ‘Kathmandu Social Forum’ (2020-2022)
