Flash Flood update

You may already be aware of the devastating flash flood that has occurred in Nepal, which has caused terrible damage and left hundreds of people still missing.

Thank you for the many messages from our customers and partners who have reached out to check on our team. We deeply appreciate your care and concern.

We’re grateful to share that all the employees at Purnaa are safe. However, some still have loved ones missing.

The floods have caused severe damage to major infrastructure, including roads, bridges, and hydropower facilities. This may disrupt logistics in the coming weeks and months.

We appreciate prayers for the continued search and rescue efforts and for families and friends still trying to reconnect.

Knowing our rights starts with knowing what the law says.

Purnaa has been working with Mukti International for quite some time, with their team providing legal advice and support to our employees when needed. As part of this ongoing partnership, Mukti International recently joined us for a Values Time session focused on domestic violence and the laws and legal protections available to those experiencing it.

The session covered different forms of violence, including financial, physical, mental, and sexual violence, and focused on practical questions: What does the law say? When can you seek help? Who can support you, and where can you go?

At Purnaa, Values Time is a space to share what's happening across the company, discuss what our values mean in practice, and make time for conversations that matter to our team.

Our team just grew by 24, and 4 just got promoted. 🌱

This month, we welcomed 24 new knitters to Purnaa, and 4 members of our sewing team transitioned from temporary to permanent positions.

Before stepping onto the production floor, every new team member completed a 14-day orientation. Alongside learning about their role, they took part in life-skills sessions, becoming familiar with our HR handbook and workplace practices, and getting to know their teammates through team-building activities.
