Procrastinating your marketing? Let’s get you moving.
Look, I've got to come clean. When someone like Verity Craft from Intelligent Ink decides to work with me, I know I’ve got to bring my A Game
Because Verity knows her stuff. She’s an expert in her field (like most of my small business owners) and she’s coming because she means business.
She’s not there for the shallow stuff. She wants analysis, clear actionable tasks specific to her needs, and a business of stuff that either she’s going to do, a team member will do or it will be outsourced.
Because when Verity makes an action plan - you know it’s going to happen.
My job was just to help her know what to put on that plan, to get some nitty gritty action points on there for my own expertise, and then help her prioritise what needed to be done first to get the hidden sales, the growth into new markets, and further develop Intelligent’s Ink position both here in NZ and on a global scale.
Better yet, being able to do it with business partner Christina at her side meant they could make the necessary calls and decisions and get things moving straight away.
If you’re an action taker who loves (and knows you need) a plan, you’re going to love getting that marketing action plan locked and loaded. All it takes is two days with me and a small group of like minded small business owners.

Adding value is the golden rule of content marketing, a key theme in my book.

⏳ True story - I once worked with a company that spent EIGHT HOURS approving four social media posts. They wanted a justification and proof of why we were using every single hashtag. They didn’t like the images that they had supplied or the ones we made for them to brief. They revised the content FOURTEEN TIMES and then went with the original words
🤬 To say both sides were frustrated at the end of that process is an understatement (to put it in perspective, we used to measure average work at two-four posts per hour, written, approved and published, depending on complexity)
🤔 What they got stuck on was PERFECTION
I am a huge believer in PERFECTION for some parts of your business
👉 In making sure the things you sell are of a high standard.
👉 In making sure that the service you give is second to none
But in terms of social media, it’s CONSISTENCY that’s more important.
And it means that some posts aren’t going to be perfect
And that’s ok
Generally only about 10% of your followers see a post. (If your engagement is good, it’s higher. If it’s not, it’s less)
And even less of those people engage with it - most will see it scrolling past in their feed
It doesn’t need to be perfect
🏹 I say - aim for 80% perfection
🤗 It’s ok if there is a typo every now and again
🤗 Miss out the hashtags? That’s ok
🤗 Forget the subtitles? - it’s still getting the job done
🤗 Less than perfect hair? - YOU STILL SHOWED UP
Perfection in social media will make your feed look gorgeous but will either consume you, or lead to three posts a year - neither of which is great for business
Make 80% your benchmark
And know - to get there a few mistakes are going to pop through.

Who else is thankful for how past work experience has shaped their skills in their own business?

Rod never expected to find myself working with small business owners, but he genuinely loves it. There’s something special about working directly with decision-makers and seeing the impact of our work almost immediately.

In Rod's corporate years, I spent a lot of time building and refining business systems—often with big budgets, where every new system was carefully scoped, tested, and rolled out in stages. While it took time to see the full impact across an entire organization, it was incredibly satisfying to watch those systems go live and make a difference.

Now, working with small businesses, the focus has shifted, but the goal is the same: setting up systems that truly work for each business. With Zoho, that means designing a CRM that fits right in with how the team already operates. The goal is always to simplify, streamline, and make work easier.

For many of my clients, this looks like:

A CRM that tracks leads without the admin hassle.

Automated follow-ups that keep clients engaged without needing constant reminders.

Systems that reduce workload and give teams the clarity they need to focus on what matters most.

If you’re looking for a CRM that supports your workflow and saves time, Rod would be happy to show you what we can achieve with Zoho.

Who has THIS as their business goal?
NOT ME!

Our clients are often surprised ( and sometimes frustrated!) when we spend time asking them about
1. Pricing structure
2. Best sellers
3. The stuff they do best
4. The stuff they don’t do so well
5. Whether they are profitable
6. Whether they are paying themselves
7. What their long term goals for their business are
8. What they want their own life to look like

We ask these questions because you can market ANYTHING

But when you market something well, it means you sell more of it

And if it’s not profitable, it’s not something you have capacity for, it’s not something you like to do, it’s not the thing you are best at, it’s not moving you forward, it’s not going to lead to you personally getting money in your bank account...

Well then all we are going to make you is broke. And busier.

Of course you might want that!

( in which case we are probably not the right marketing strategists for you ;) )

I used to be so ashamed of the following testimonial I got years ago.
It said “Rachel made me realise marketing is really simple and really she just got all my ideas down and then make it all make sense”
Now I’m super proud of it - and it’s exactly what I do over and over again for my clients.

At the time I was embarrassed as I thought it meant I hadn’t done any creative
“All” I’d done is organise their thoughts and ideas into a strategy and action plan AND then helped them prioritise it all.

EXCEPT - It was exactly what most business owners need most

You need someone to sense check your ideas
You need someone to filter them with an experienced marketer’s eye
You need someone who can see your business and find a way to make your story shine

A marketing strategy for a small business isn’t about developing a snazzy campaign (though if you want one of those my ADHD brain can find one in a jiffy)

It’s giving you a structured, focussed plan of attack
It’s taking all that stuff going on in your brain
And putting it down in order, prioritising, sifting, removing and keeping you laser focussed on your goals

Add in my my years of experience and working with hundreds of oher small business owners and being able to pinch ideas, share insights and make your plan 100% perfect for your business.

I’m the person you choose if you want clear, actionable advice, support and strategy in your marketing, AND a plan you’ll understand.

Ready for that? Let’s talk.
