Rainer Irrigation, a key sponsor of the Ashburton College First XI Tournament.

The boys have got six games over four days, with three draws and two losses so far. Competing against 17 to 18-year-olds from high schools across the South Island has been a great challenge for this young squad.

While the results haven't quite gone their way, the experience gained this week will be invaluable. This is a junior team that will undoubtedly come back stronger, more confident, and ready to take on these teams again next year.

Well done, boys, and keep up the awesome work! ⚽

A couple of dairy shed pumping fit-outs recently completed by the Rainer team.

When we design these setups, we look at more than just getting the water from A to B. We take pumping efficiency into account to help reduce power use, while also making better use of the water already being used in the shed rather than simply sending it all to the effluent pond.

There can be some good opportunities to reduce both water and power use by getting the setup right.

If you have a dairy conversion coming up, or you’re looking at ways to reduce water use in your existing shed, come and have a chat with the Rainer team. We can have a look at your current setup and see where improvements can be made.

Reliable irrigation starts long before effluent reaches the irrigator.

In this video, Tom explains how removing solids early with the Vibra Screen helps protect irrigation equipment, reduce blockages, and keep effluent systems operating more efficiently.

From cleaner liquid in storage ponds to easier handling of separated solids, effective screening can make a significant difference to system performance across the farm.

Watch Tom's insights and discover how a simple change at the start of the process can help improve reliability, reduce maintenance and support better nutrient management.

Separating solids before irrigation improves more than pond management, it protects irrigation infrastructure and improves overall system reliability. The Vibra Screen removes larger particles early, helping reduce nozzle blockages and improving the performance of travelling irrigators and pivot systems.

The vibrating screen separates solids from liquid before they enter storage or irrigation systems, preventing debris from progressing through the effluent chain. This keeps liquid cleaner and reduces strain on downstream equipment.

Cleaner liquid improves pond storage efficiency and reduces the need for frequent pond cleaning, while separated solids can be naturally dewatered, making them easier to handle, transport, and return to paddocks where nutrients are needed. This improves both irrigation performance and nutrient distribution across the farm.

The result is a more reliable, lower-maintenance effluent system that improves irrigation uptime and farm-wide nutrient efficiency.

The Vibra Screen is engineered for the demanding conditions of real dairy operations. It handles fibrous material, feed pad waste, stones, and heavier solids while maintaining consistent separation performance day after day.

A vibrating screen system keeps material moving continuously across the surface, allowing liquid to pass through while solids are lifted and separated. This active movement helps prevent blockages and build-up, even under heavy load conditions.

With fewer internal wear components than traditional separation systems, it reduces maintenance requirements and improves long-term reliability. The design is built to keep operating efficiently in high-volume environments where downtime is costly.

For farms processing large volumes of effluent, Vibra Screen delivers a dependable, low-maintenance solution that simplifies daily management and improves system uptime.
