Here's some exciting news:

will soon list the 2015 Owhanake syrah!

This vintage has been properly aged, with aromas of blackberries, sweet cherries with a hint of oak and spice.

On the palate, this smooth syrah features berries and almond, with a Mediterranean influence, especially sea salt and olives with an elegant velvety finish.

Trust me, you are going to like this!

The 2025 Owhanake Bay Wines syrah will be a cracker.

I've decided to name this vintage too. You will remember that the 2022 was named THe ONE, so we can't call this the same . But it's good! Very good.

I have little memory of this.
I notice that grapes made it, even though upside down.
Not sure why I thought they needed chopping.
Perhaps I was destined to grow either very big carrots, or grapes.

6 hour job.

This is the last maintenance I will do on the vineyard.

It's hard to leave, but it's time.

20 years and in that time we have produced some lovely wine, and won a pile of gold medals, one trophy and 3 championships.

My very big thanks to , , and .

If you are a fan, never fear! We have retained two vintages: the 2015 and the 2025.

The 2015 will be available in the n new year once supplies of the 2019 run out.

The 2025 is still in the barrel, and is a fab syrah. Keep an eye out here for updates.

To be clear, we sold the land and tools only. The Owhanake abd Owhanake Bay Estate wine brand and logo, along with all goodwill follows me.

The purchaser did buy some Owhanake wine, but has only the rights they would have if they bought it from a wine shop.

I very much look forward to sharing the 2025 with you
