We've donated 5,000 Nappies, 1,000 Sanitary Pads and 100 Xmas Day food parcels to those in need this Xmas.

It’s been another big year and I think it’s fair to say we’re really looking forward to the break.

For the past few years we have been donating to charities and initiatives instead of client gifts and boozy lunches at Xmas. We feel it’s more appropriate to give to people that really need our support at this time of the year.

In previous years we’ve gifted to Eat My Lunch (it’s such a shame to see them shuttering their business this month) and Help for Hospo. More recently we have donated over $65k of our time to raise significant funds for Dementia Auckland, Harbour Hospice and Rotary as part of the Homes of Devonport tour.

So this year we’re helping Auckland City Mission as they've seen a 400% increase in demand for their services as more people suffer from the cost of living crisis and inflation.

We've donated 5,000 Nappies, 1,000 Sanitary Pads and 100 Xmas Day food parcels to those in need. Key items we’ve been told are in desperate need.

We wish you all a very merry and relaxing festive season and look forward to reconnecting in 2023.

We're donating $10k to this Xmas.

We know from speaking to many of our clients and friends that it’s been a rough ride - but we’re a resilient bunch and I keep reminding our great wee D&Co team that we’re much luckier than so many others suffering through this - no more so than the hospo sector. It’s for that reason that we’ve decided to donate $10k to help out instead of festive client gifts this year.

Our donation will go to the Help For Hospo initiative with all funds going directly to hospitality employees.

‘Ka ora te wai, ka ora te whenua, ka ora ngā tāngata’
‘If the water is healthy, the land is healthy, the people are healthy’

It was a pleasure to facilitate a Water New Zealand Board Strategy day recently. A strategy day that saw us pivot to Zoom and Miro sessions due to lockdown fallout.

As with most of our remote coaching, ideation and workshop facilitation we split the day into two 3hr sessions to alleviate Zoom fatigue and keep everyone focused and present.

Working closely with Gillian Blythe (CEO) we designed a robust set of canvases for Miro that outlined key strategies and tactical initiatives for discussion and ultimately voting.

A great couple of sessions with high energy, engaged Board members and clarity on the future direction for Water NZ.

Water NZ play an incredibly important role in advocating and promoting the sustainable management of the water environment and in particular, the three waters (drinking, waste and storm water) through supporting members, and engaging with key partners and stakeholders.

Taking our CX ‘Moments that Matter’ toolkit for Southern Cross into the virtual realm.

We think it’s a world first but we can’t be sure. What we can be sure of is that Southern Cross Health Society teams across New Zealand can now easily access our immersive customer experience installation, watch compelling videos, download key artefacts and use the experience and its associated CX toolkit to help them develop new services and solutions aligned to prioritised customer needs.

The virtual experience provides viewers with a wealth of valuable and actionable CX information. We share customer stories and critical insights. We breakdown each stages of the customer journey and highlight the stages that matter most to customers, their key needs and the actions we need to take based on a combination of insights led qualitative research and comprehensive quantitative research.

It was great to see Russ’ favourite idea from our design sprint with Z on reimagining the Future of Loyalty win at the CX Awards.

We used D&Co’s proprietary Experience Innovation System to design a sprint that involved key teams from across Z. We designed a future state hypothesis, a ‘6 months in the life of’ experience and 11 refined concepts. Sharetank was one of those ideas.

Sharetank takes the best Z price within a 30km radius and allows you to lock in that price. Moreover you can bulk buy your fuel which you can then share with up to 5 others.

It's a true driver of loyalty and a 2 way exchange of value. Loyalty is so often geared in favour of the brand, or is a passive, zero emotion experience but Sharetank has the potential to break ‘convenience’ purchase behaviour in favour of brand preference driven by value.

Embracing ‘shareability’ also allows us to tap into the emotional fuelled by common societal norms such as parents funding their kids fuel needs or community generosity like gifting those in need which Sharetank did so well during our first lockdown in NZ in partnership with New World and the Student Volunteer Army.

Well done Z and their ex*****on partners on bringing these powerful ideas to life. It’s a great reminder that creativity can drive positive change and I’m loving that the future of loyalty is shape shifting for the better.

When Fonterra asked D&Co to help bring to life their new ‘Good Together’ philosophy we explored an exciting new direction for the brand that signalled a departure from the corporate feel of the past. This fresh, approachable and softer communication was one we wanted to extend into the 2020 Farmers' Handbook.
