We're proud to share that Future Energy has been named a finalist in the Disruptive Innovation Award at the 2026 Sustainable Business Awards, and included on Sustainable Business Network's Next List 2026 πŸ†

This recognition is for our Yasawa Islands off grid solar and battery project in Fiji, and for the model behind it: an approach that lets commercial solar start small, earn from day one, and run alongside a site's existing diesel generators.

It's an honour to be among the finalists helping to build New Zealand's next economy, with the winners announced at Shed 10 on November 26th.

Thank you to SolaX Power Australia, to the Yasawa Island Resorts team, and to everyone at Future Energy who took this idea to one of the remotest corners of the Pacific and made it work.

It's World Energy Storage Day 🌏 and the Southern Lakes region is exactly why battery storage matters. Storms roll through there all the time. High winds, unpredictable weather, the kind of place where the power can drop out fast.

Our winning project for the SEANZ Taspac Award for Best Off Grid PV System: Yasawa Islands, Fiji πŸ†πŸ–οΈ Three remote luxury resorts owned by Nick Woods, now running fully off diesel on their own microgrid.

For the Yasawa Islands Solar Project, we shipped five 40 foot containers. 2,000 solar panels. 8 SolaX Power Australia AELIO battery cabinets. Mounting, racking, balance of system, monitoring kit. 1.6 megawatts.

An off grid system has to stand entirely on its own, no national grid to fall back on, just onsite generation and storage doing all the work. 50% energy cost saving projected for year one, NZ$630,000 in annual fuel savings, payback in 2 to 3 years.
