Youth4Sure 2026 is recruiting for its youth panel! 📣💫🌺

In this panel, you will work alongside your youth panel members and our co-funders (Maungakiekie-Tamaki Local Board, Foundation North and DIA) to manage, promote and distribute funding in our community!

These funds are centred around supporting youth connection, active recreation, well-being and leadership. Your input will directly go into what you want to see in your community!

We are looking for…
✅ Youth (16-21 years old)
✅ From Maungakiekie-Tāmaki (Glen Innes, Point England, Panmure, Mt Wellington, Onehunga, Oranga, Penrose, One Tree Hill)
✅ Passionate about youth voice
✅ Committed and reliable
✅ Have awesome communication & decision-making skills
✅ Empathetic, supportive and understanding

This stems from the whakataukī: “E kore au e ngaro, he kākano i ruia mai i Rangiātea.” (Translation: I am never lost, for I am a seed sown in Rangiātea.”

Our message is to empower youth in knowing that theh can navigate or find their way through changes because they are forever connected to themselves, their roots, their community and their ancestors. So whenever you feel lost, just know that there’s a whole village behind awhi’ing and tautoko’ing you the whole way. ❤️‍🔥💯

The YOUTH4SURE fund is now live and open to applications!

We’ve been pretty lowkey bout this but since July, we’ve been meeting fortnightly Mondays to plan, create and deliver a fund to our community. This has been an opportunity for us, local youth from Maungakiekie and Tāmaki, to be active community leaders & get a say in what we wanna see in our areas ❤️‍🔥

If you’re youth or a group, and you have a great idea/project but don’t have the money to make it happen, we want you to apply for this money! This fund is 4 you 💯 so what do you wanna make happen for your hood?

We are so proud of another successful year of celebrating youth. Thank you to our sponsors and friends from the community who helped make this event possible for us and our young ppl! Your work doesn’t go unnoticed and we are grateful for everything you do to uplift our community. Again, we are grateful for our village and for our community for showing up ❤️‍🔥
