🌐🌟 Speaker Spotlight: Ms. Nita Patel, MSCpE 🌟🌐

We are excited to present our distinguished speaker, Ms. Nita Patel, the luminary Senior Director at Otis's lead design center in Farmington! Nita is at the forefront of global engineering development, pioneering in connected, smart, IoT-based platforms. And she's not just a tech wizard; she's also the 2023 President of the IEEE Computer Society! 🚀

Nita's journey with IEEE is adorned with numerous roles, including the IEEE Foundation Director and the founder of the IEEE Women in Engineering International Leadership Conference (WIE ILC). Her passion for women in engineering is evident as she has served as the past Women in Engineering International Chair and has been a beacon of inspiration in her various roles, including on the Eta Kappa Nu Board of Governors and as IEEE-USA Vice President.

With a rich academic background from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, holding an MS in Computer Engineering, a BS in Electrical Engineering, and a BS in Mathematics, Nita is a powerhouse of knowledge and leadership.

🎙️ Speaker Spotlight: Dame Juliet Gerrard, DPhil 🎙️

An Oxford University alumnus, Juliet boasts an expansive and interdisciplinary expertise in protein science. Since her move to Aotearoa in 1993, she has graced various pivotal roles in Crown Research Institutes and universities, chaired the Marsden Council, and served on the Board of Directors of Plant and Food Research. Not just confined to academia, Juliet's entrepreneurial spirit led her to found a start-up and collaborate closely with Callaghan Innovation.

But perhaps her most impactful role has been as the Prime Minister’s Chief Science Advisor since 2018. In this capacity, she has been instrumental in guiding the nation, especially during challenging times like the Covid-19 pandemic. Under her leadership, her office has unveiled significant reports, with a notable emphasis on infectious disease, antimicrobial resistance, and food waste.

Juliet's work ethos is deeply rooted in principles of rigor, inclusivity, transparency, and accessibility. We eagerly await the insights she will share with us!
