“Taimwanuokai: Forget Me Not” 2.0 opened last year on Tuesday 18 November 2025 as part of WIPCE (World Indigenous Peoples’ Conference on Education).

Today, we concluded the exhibition with a special knowledge and practice exchange between Louisa Humphry MNZM and members of the Marewen Kiribati Youth (MKY) group.

Kam Rabwa MKY, for sharing your passion and love for Kiribati performing arts! Check out MKY’s upcoming performance “The Voices of Our Ancestors” next Friday 12 June as part of the PDNZ 2026 festival!

To our Dear Hearts Louisa and Jack, thank you for filling the last two days of the exhibition with warmth, laughter and making. As always, we miss you both Kaetaeta and John.

Fa’afetai tele lava to Fay Nanai and the team at Herenga Mātauranga Whānui, the General Library at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland for hosting this exhibition for the past six months.

Lagi-Maama May 2026 travels and blessings 🌺🤍

🔹Grateful for progressing the journey of our two Samoa projects with Falemata’aga Museum of Samoa:
1) Samoa preservation container project and 2) November exhibition.
- Vinaka vaka levu to the Falemata’aga team and for the safe transfer of measina for pest management.
- Fa’afetai lava to the support of MEC (Ministry of Education and Culture), Samoa; Swire Shipping; The Tindall Foundadion, Next Gen; and MFAT.

🔹Mālō ‘aupito to our knowledge holders and exhibition team - all collectively working towards different components of “Our Ocean of Islands” exhibition at Hui Te Ananui A Tangaroa NZ Maritime Museum.
Scheduled to open in August this year

🔹Together with Molima Molly Pihigia QSM & Falepipi He Mafola Niuean Handcraft Group we shared an emotional and fulfilling day with the opening of “Fenoga Tāoga Niue I Aotearoa: Niue Heritage Journey In Aotearoa” 4.0.
⁃ Ngā mihi to Matua Raniera for leading the opening, then a warm welcome by Echo. Huge thanks to Theresa, Paula and wider team at Tāmaki Pātaka Kōrero, Auckland Central City Library. And to the awesome Art Corp team - Joe, Gene and Claudia!

🔹Honoured to be part of our dear heart Whina Te Whiu’s whānau for her Mihi Whakatau into her new role.
And the farewell for Dr Sione Faletau from his role at Māngere Arts Centre Ngā Tohu on Uenuku.

🔹We concluded our May month on a high with welcoming and spending time and space with Drs Kalei Nu’uhiwa and Dr Hinanui Cauchois.

As part of the upcoming 🔹Our Ocean of Islands🔹exhibition, Lagi-Maama in partnership with Hui Te Ananui a Tangaroa NZ Maritime Museum recently hosted two knowledge holders:

⁃ Dr Kalei Nu’uhiwa from Hawai’i &
⁃ Dr Hinanui Cauchois from Tahiti.

They both travelled to Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, with support from Hui Te Ananui a Tangaroa to bring their Taonga for the exhibition.

Fa’afetai tele lava Julia, Mali, Salevasa, Jaqui, Hūfanga-He-Ako-Moe-Lotu, Tiare, Hikule’o, & Akesiumeimoana for sharing a meal with our visitors.

Tenkyu tumas Julia for hosting Drs Kalei and Hinanui as guest lectures for your classes @ Waipapa Taumata Rau University of Auckland.
And to the support of Drs Emalani and Gordon.

- We also connected with people and institutions to confirm the next venue for “Noken / Men”. this space.

🔹We always treasure our te maroro with our Kiribati family - Kaetaeta, Louisa and Jack.

🔹We concluded our April month on a high with our talanoa with Faipule Kelihiano Kalolo and Fatu Tauafiafi.
