Doing our bit for the community in Hawkes Bay,

♻We are beginning food waste disposal on Tuesday.
👉On your regular rubbish collection day you will have a food waste bag delivered with a flyer that tells you where to take it.
👉You can take it to your collection point THE DAY AFTER your regular rubbish day.
👉This is an opportunity for you to get rid of any food you still have in your fridge or freezer. If you have already put it in the wheelie bin, don't worry. Don't dig it out again. This just gives you an additional way to get rid of spoiled food.
👉Do not put the food waste bag on the kerb as it may be tempting to pests! You must take it to one of the six collection points on your flyer. If the bin isn't there when you arrive, either go to another collection point or wait, the bin will be back!
📣This food waste system will help us divert as much as possible from landfill.

In yesterday's event, ANDREW FISHER represents Eco Stock Supplies Ltd and Ecogas at the launch of Kai Commitment.

New Zealand continues to take big steps towards a circular economy and a more sustainable future.

Kai Commitment is an agreement between leading food businesses to reduce food waste and emissions and contribute to a more sustainable food system in Aotearoa New Zealand.

We had the privilege of welcoming Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern to help us launch the initiative alongside our signatories Fonterra, Countdown Supermarkets, Silver Fern Farms Ltd , Goodman Fielder, Foodstuffs New Zealand and Nestlé, Angie Warren-Clark, Vicky Robertson, Dame Juliet Gerrard and 100 of our closest food waste reduction friends.

Our trustees and champions Miranda Mirosa, ANDREW FISHER , Deborah Manning and Sarah Pritchett represented New Zealand Food Waste Champions 12.3 and Executive Director Kaitlin Dawson MC’d the day. We can’t express enough gratitude to our small team who includes James Walker and Lisa Busch for their dedication over the past 1.5 years and Tessa Vincent who sparked the conversation.

Thank you to our hosts Fonterra, Rescued Limited for keeping us full with their delicious upcycled food and our supporters to get us to this point Whakatupu Aotearoa Foundation, AGMARDT (The Agricultural and Marketing Research and Development Trust), The Tindall Foundation, Goodman Fielder, Countdown Supermarkets and Ministry for the Environment | Manatū mō te Taiao.

There was truly a buzz in the air, one we know will have a long-lasting impact.

Seven Sharp takes viewers on a behind-the-scenes tour of Ecogas with Andrew who shares why the newly opened Reporoa Organics Processing Facility is creating such exciting opportunities for New Zealand - an investment that is contributing to our transition to a circular bioeconomy.

This facility is the result of the hard mahi of multiple organisations, including Scion, spanning many years. We supported Ecogas by de-risking the technology used in the plant and continue to work with them today on research that is bringing New Zealand closer to achieving a more sustainable, renewable energy future.

EcoStock is celebrating Conservation Week which was started in 1969 by the New Zealand Scout Association and is now run by the Department of Conservation. It is a celebration of our unique natural fauna and flora and a reminder that 4,000 of New Zealand’s native animals and plants are threatened or at risk.

A big part of Conservation Week is community involvement through organized events.

Take a moment to act for nature this Conservation Week 5 - 11 September.

EcoStock's persistence and continuous efforts reflect in the results we create in building up a better world around for the next generations. The recent award for "International Best Practice" uplifts the spirits of our team and helps us in delivering more to the environment.

Eco Stock's continuous innovation in the recycling industry keeps us apart from the other companies. A recent grant of WMIF from Auckland Council is well spent in the trials for diverting Fire Extinguishers Powder from landfills by converting it into organic fertilizer.
