For the second year now, we’re proud to have cast the Qantas campaign. Produced by the amazing Matt & Michelle at Supernormal, and directed by Kick-A director Liv McClymont. This was a special one.
Our first task was to find real people with a real Trans-Tasman story. Then cast the actors to match. A beautiful story about family, connection, following your dreams, and reunion. And then there’s the carrier that brings them all together. Nice one Qantas. 🥂

The second in a series of three spots we cast for SKY. - We found the perfect actor for this role, in Hennie. Lovely performance. - As a casting director, I always like to run with the script as is. But if the actor is up for it, it's always fun to do a couple of takes where the actor is cutting loose and improvising. It can really unearth some gems. Sometimes improvised moments can even end up in the final ad. Other times not. But at the very least, an ability to improvise within a given scenario shows off an actors skill set. And that, in turn, can instil confidence in all the decision makers that this actor is a safe bet for the job. - Looking forward to this Saturday...

Shot on film in the stunning South Island town of Twizel, When The Geese Flew had its’ world premiere earlier this year at Cannes. Then it was on to NZIFF 2025.
Directed so skillfully by Arthur Gay and produced by the amazing Laura Ganotis, it’s a stunning example of cinematic beauty and storytelling. We’re very proud to have cast this one.

What constitutes a performance? The briefest story beat often absolutely requires an actor with chops. No dialogue does not = No need for an actor. - In this series of slick 15” spots we cast for director James Anderson and his prod. co. Two Heads, we needed actors that could convey a thought, in a moment. No easy task. Big ups to our wonderful actors. It was a fun few days in the studio casting these. The campaign is still rolling out, so these are still just out o’ the oven...

I'll always jump at the chance to work with director and legendary producer Julie Elstone of - Mike gave me my first job as a casting assistant way back when🍻. - Featuring that man who has 'funny' in his bones .daymond and the big fluffy purple guy himself, who wouldn't wanna hit the road with these two?! - Need to get me one of those shakes...

We finally got the opportunity to work with director Sam Kristofski too. - Produced by Rachael Blampied at Fish, this concept of a manchild who still lives at home, was gold. Very funny scripts and embarrassingly relatable…

Finally had the pleasure of working with directing legend Gregor Nicholas from Fish. - Takes me back to first learning of Gregor after seeing his beautiful B&W 35mm short Avondale Dogs. Then being cast as an actor in two of his commercials 15 or so years ago. A full circle moment. Cheers to Sam at Fish for getting us onboard.

So often commercial auditions are about improvising around a scenario. Nothing to say necessarily. But all about taking a situation and running with it. Some actors feel at sea when the brief ‘feels’ loose like this. Others thrive.
Safe to say we found a lovely cast across these 3 spots. Thank you to actors Omari, Andrew, Tessa, Justin, Reuben & whānau. And of course, working with Director Jeff Wood & Producer Rachael Blampied is always a treat.

Good comedy is always about playing the truth of the scene, no matter how crazy the situation. As soon as an actor comments on their performance, it loses it’s charm. Such lovely nuanced performances here from Hadleigh and Yusuf. A job we cast for director Jesse Vogelaar and producer Matt McKenzie at Supernormal - Always a pleasure, to say the least. 🚙 ⛽️

Here’s another one of the colourful spots we cast for Flybuys. It was Flybuys final ad campaign, and Matt at Supernormal got us onboard. Directed by the great Laura Sargisson, our brief with this particular spot was to find a grandma who was happy to ride a mechanical bull... No mean feat. But then we found Diana! Safe to say, it was a really fun job, and so nice to be a part of a departing brand’s final campaign. Cheers Flybuys!

Never ceases to amaze me how much talent is out there amongst our tamariki.
We put the word out that we were looking for young basketballers, and the response knocked our socks off.
Safe to say we found some amazing young talent.
Thank you to Yolande and Ray at Collider, for getting us onboard. The pleasure was all ours. Cheers Semu. And thank you Manuel and Lance for the hookups and connecting us with so many wonderful kids.
I won’t mention their names for the sake of their privacy, but get a load of this. The future of basketball in Aotearoa is in great hands.
