Introducing: Anne Taefu, Samoan by descent, Pre Programme Coordinator/Business Support Advisor, Samoan by descent, Anne, comes from a diverse background and is passionate about social work / social justice issues.
βœ… About my practice:
β€œI am the newly appointed Community of Care Co-ordinator at Ako Mātātupu, a tertiary organization and NGO dedicated to improving educational outcomes for young people in Aotearoa. My professional background spans Business Support Advisory, Service-Based, and Freelance Project roles, where I've contributed to the support of vulnerable communities, Pasifika & Maori Adult Learners, Small Businesses, Social Work Academics, and Community Leaders. As a personable and divergent thinker, I bring a reflective nature to my work. Maintaining a student mentality, I am deeply committed to lifelong learning.
βœ… About Tautai support:
"We often ponder the notion of outgrowing people or relationships, but what about the profound realization of outgrowing one's former self? This reflection was challenging to accept as I clung to an outdated version of myself that no longer served my growth or happiness. It was amidst one of the darkest seasons of my life that I had the blessing of reconnecting with Melvin. His gift of encouragement and the ministry of his presence emerged as a guiding light and a crucial turning point in my journey. Though I had always perceived myself as 'confident', I wrestled with indecision and the weight of others' opinions of me during that period. I felt debilitated, unsure of myself and my next steps. Then, Melvin posed a simple yet profound question: ""What do YOU want?"" It was a wake-up call that prompted me to reassess my life and reclaim agency over my decisions. Since then, I've implemented significant changes, feeling more aligned with my true self. I have a newfound sense of clarity and purpose in my life.
βœ… About my goals for 2024:
In this new season, I will be pursuing Postgraduate studies in Bicultural Professional Supervision, building on my passion for fostering positive educational outcomes for Maori and Pasifika Γ„konga.”
βœ… About my practice passion:
Mental health and counselling
βœ… About my Self -care:
Regular exercise or physical activity
βœ… About my hobby and or interests:
Fun fact, I haven’t eaten red meat or pork for 5 years.
