Glamorous and incredibly smart.
Warm, funny, successful—and nobody’s fool.

People may underestimate you because of how you look, how you speak, where you come from, or how unapologetically you show up.

Who cares!

Dolly didn’t waste her life trying to fit someone else’s idea of what a successful woman should look like.

She knew who she was, built an empire around it and made sure other people rose with her.

That might be her greatest wisdom:

Know yourself.
Back yourself.
Use what makes you different.

Last night after a fantastic day of connecting, learning and networking a group of māori & pasifika entrepreneurs went out for a drink and a bite to eat. We had been in business mode all day so was great to share personal stories and learn more about each other.

Now of course this meant lots of laughter.

What happened next wasn't unusual but was unexpected because we were in a very empty bar / restaurant. Note one with TV screens that were on and plastic walls.

Guess what happened.

And to add more context we were 90% women.

I am multi passionate and it’s always been seen as a negative for people to incorporate all the things they want to do. But it’s ok. Focusing on one thing in business means you can probably make more money doing that one thing but why not make money doing all the things you want to do? Seems like more fun to me!
