I Am Muslim is a storytelling series spotlighting Muslims from all walks of life. Each episode shares a different journey exploring how faith is lived, experienced, and woven into everyday life. From reverts to creatives, entrepreneurs to community leaders, no two stories are the same.
In this episode of I Am Muslim, we follow the story of Anthony Paetawa Wilson - a Māori revert whose journey to Islam is deeply rooted in identity, belonging, and faith.
Through his story, we explore the connection between whakapapa and belief, and how embracing Islam became a continuation, and not a departure of who he is. From reflections on culture to the role of community, Anthony shares what it means to navigate life as both Māori and Muslim, and how faith shapes his everyday choices and purpose.
