Six years ago today, I was on a Zoom call with Ben Chestnut, Mailchimp’s co-founder, and a couple of fellow partners, helping launch Mailchimp & Co, the partner programme that grew out of the old Experts directory.

A lot has changed since then: platforms, prices, algorithms, and what people expect from their inbox. One thing hasn’t. The businesses that do best own their audience. Social reach comes and goes, but your email list is yours.

So here’s my anniversary nudge: when did you last send your list something genuinely useful? Not a sale, just something worth opening.

I’m still a Mailchimp Pro Partner, and I was proud to be the first to hold all three Mailchimp certifications. These days, I help NZ businesses with the email setup that suits them best.
