🐾 MEET ERNIE, THE PARSON RUSSELL TERRIER!
You don’t see this breed every day, so Ernie was a pretty special visitor.
Here’s Renée, our Certified Master Groomer, hand-stripping Ernie’s coat — a traditional grooming technique used to help maintain the correct texture, colour and finish of suitable terrier coats.

Grooming really is so much more than just clipping hair. Different breeds have different coat types, different needs and different techniques that help them look and feel their best.
And Ernie was such a good boy for the whole process.

Parson Russell owners — we’d love to see your dogs. Drop a photo in the comments and tell us their name.

🐾 PET OF THE WEEK — ERNIE!
Meet Ernie, our Pet of the Week at Angels Grooming Massey — and this was his very first visit with us.
Ernie is a Parson Russell Terrier, a breed we don’t see very often, so he was a bit of a special visitor from the start.
He was handstripped all over, helping preserve that lovely harsh terrier coat and natural texture — and he was such a good boy for the whole process.
Parson Russells were originally developed as working terriers, so it’s probably no surprise that Ernie came with plenty of s***k, brains and personality. They’re known for being lively, clever, confident little dogs with a lot going on behind those eyes.
Ernie definitely brought the character.
A brilliant first visit, a beautiful handstrip, and one very smart little terrier.
Well done, Ernie — we loved having you in.
And keep an eye on the page tomorrow… we might just have a little more to say about the Parson Russell Terrier.

CELEBRITY PETS OF THE WEEK — KELLY RIPA & MARK CONSUELOS
This week we’re featuring Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos and their two rescue dogs, Lena and brand-new addition Javi.
Lena joined the family in 2021 after appearing as an adoptable dog on Live. She’s a Maltese/Shih Tzu mix, and Kelly and Mark initially wanted to make sure she would fit comfortably into family life before making the adoption official. Us
Fast-forward to October 2026, and history has repeated itself.
During Live with Kelly and Mark’s Adopt a Dog Week, Mark met a little rescue pup originally called Lucas and bonded with him almost immediately. By the next day, the couple announced they had adopted him and renamed him Javi, short for Javier. Before finalising everything, they also introduced him to Lena on set to make sure the two dogs were comfortable together. People.com
Javi is still completing a few medical checks before fully settling into the household, but Kelly and Mark have already described themselves as very excited new pet parents. E! Online
We love this one because both dogs came into their lives through rescue and adoption — and both were given a chance to become part of a family.
Have you ever adopted a dog who completely changed your life?
Tell us their name in the comments.

LONG COAT, SHORT COAT, FLOOFY COAT, MATTED COAT… WHAT DOES YOUR CAT’S COAT LOOK LIKE RIGHT NOW?

Professional cat grooming can make a huge difference to comfort, shedding, tangles and general coat condition — especially for long-haired cats or cats who are struggling to keep on top of their own grooming.

At Angels Grooming Parlours, our experienced groomers work carefully and calmly with cats, tailoring the groom to suit the individual cat and their coat.

If your cat is due for a tidy-up, de-shed, clip or full groom, now is a good time to book.
What type of coat does your cat have — sleek, fluffy, super-thick or completely out of control? Tell us in the comments.

Book through your local Angels Grooming Parlour.

MONTY WOULD LIKE EVERYONE TO KNOW THAT LOOKING THIS GOOD DOES NOT HAPPEN BY ACCIDENT. 😂
There’s brushing to endure, floof to manage, naps to schedule… and of course the exhausting job of being ridiculously handsome throughout the whole thing.
By the end of it, Monty was looking very pleased with himself — and honestly, fair enough.

Does your dog KNOW they’re good looking?

Tell us in the comments what gives them away. 😂
And if your dog’s floof is starting to take over the house, it might be time for a visit to Angels.

DID YOU KNOW?
A dog’s nose may be able to detect heat from a warm body — not just smells.
Researchers found dogs could distinguish a warm object from one at room temperature using very weak thermal radiation, even when the warmth was too subtle for a human hand to feel. Their brains also showed a response to the warm stimulus. Nature
So that cold, wet nose is doing even more than we realised.

Did you know dogs could potentially “sense” warmth like this, or is this a new one for you?
