We're thrilled to announce that early bird tickets are available now until 30 April for the 2025 Disability Inclusive Pathways Conference!

15 – 16 July
Pullman Hotel & Apartments, Auckland

This year's theme, 'Fuelling Strengths. Delivering Impact,' highlights how forward-thinking organisations are moving beyond compliance to harness disability inclusion as a strategic advantage that strengthens performance across all business dimensions.

Leave with actionable insights and strategies to progress disability inclusion both in your workplace and consumer markets, and wider organisational objectives.

Hosted by the New Zealand Disability Employers’ Network (NZDEN), this conference is a unique opportunity to connect and build lasting professional relationships with business leaders, HR and DEI professionals, government and policy leaders, accessibility professionals, and industry pioneers – all focussed on building a more inclusive Aotearoa.

Plus - in partnership with Whaikaha | Ministry of Disabled People and We Enable Us | Mā mātau anō mātau e whakamana, we are proud to present the inaugural Disability in the Public Sector - Working Session on July 17th - a complimentary third day event exclusively for public service attendees.

Today, 21 March, is World Down Syndrome Day! 🧦💙💛

At the NZDEN we believe in and strive to help build a world where everyone is valued for their strengths and contributions. The social model of disability reminds us that it’s not Down Syndrome that creates barriers - it’s society’s structures, attitudes, and environments that determine inclusion.

In Aotearoa, we have the opportunity to build truly inclusive workplaces where people with Down Syndrome can thrive. From ensuring recruitment processes are accessible, recognising diverse skills and talents, and creating workplaces that embrace neurodiversity and different ways of thinking.

When we remove barriers, we open the door to innovation, creativity, and a stronger, more inclusive workforce. Let’s celebrate the incredible value that people with Down Syndrome bring to our communities and workplaces.

This video from CoorDown is a wonderful reminder that inclusion will never be possible if the decisions that shape the world are made only by a few, for a few. Everyone’s opinion must be heard until the world is finally shaped by all. For all.

It’s Global Accessibility Awareness Day today here in New Zealand! Maybe it’s the day you begin your accessibility journey. We are here to help if you’re struggling to know where to begin.

As one of the first countries to see the sunrise on 16th May 2024, Aotearoa New Zealand is excited to kick off the 13th Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD).

GAAD is all about getting everyone talking, thinking, and learning about digital access and inclusion for the more than one billion people with disabilities.

There are many ways you can participate and turn awareness into action. Check out the tips on the official GAAD website: https://accessibility.day/

We'd love to hear what you or your organisation are doing to promote accessibility! Share your initiatives and inspire others.
