At Takapuna Beach House, shifts in grain and tone give the use of Prime Art & Toitū Veneer™ a rhythm of its own. Each space it is used in brings something different, adding warmth and movement to the home’s minimalist architectural palette in the affluent coastal suburb of Takapuna.

Architecture by Daniel Marshall Architects and design by Bespoke Interior Design, this coastal oasis lets the materials do the talking. Concrete, stone and crisp detailing set the scene, while Prime Art & Toitū Veneer™ used throughout the home bring a natural variation that catches the eye and invites a closer look.

Material, colour and creativity joined forces at this year’s NKBA Conference.

Last week, our NZPG Specification Consultants, Ellen and Viv, joined New Zealand’s kitchen and bathroom design community for two days of industry insight, inspiration and connection. The experience continued at Residium, where NKBA participants took part in a fast-paced, product-focused speed-dating event with supplier sponsors.

For our session, we invited designers to step away from the traditional presentation format and explore our products firsthand through a custom moodboard challenge.

Beginning with colours from the newly launched Prime Porcelain range—including our latest release, Tuscany—participants intentionally layered samples from across our wider product portfolio to create a finished moodboard. Prime Melamine, Bestwood Melamine, Dezignatek, Prime Veneer and Mercer samples provided a considered mix of colours, textures and finishes for participants to experiment with.

The result was a collection of beautiful moodboards, each presenting a unique material palette and creative perspective on kitchen and bathroom design.

Thank you to NKBA and Residium for bringing the industry together—and to everyone who took part and shared their creativity with us.

Drawing from across our product portfolio, brings together a considered and intentional mix of materials and finishes in this character-filled kitchen transformation. The brief was simple, the clients were looking to modernise their existing kitchen all while retaining the natural character of their classic home.

Our Ronda profile in Feather White creates a classic and timeless Shaker-style door panel that introduces a subtle depth to the space, paired with matched Bestwood Melamine for the interior panels. American White Oak from our Prime Veneer range introduces natural warmth, custom-stained to complement the back panel of the peninsula.

Our Prime Porcelain in Infinity Travertino adds warmth and texture across the benchtop, window surround and bar leaner. With the clients looking for a durable surface that could confidently withstand hot pots and pans, Prime Porcelain was a natural choice. The space is completed with a Everglade Bowl and ¼.

The result is an intentional balance of retaining that classic character, a contemporary material palette, and combining everyday functionality.

Thoughtful design is found in the details—the finish of a pull-out mixer, the proportions of a sink and the way a workspace supports everyday life.

The Mercer product line-up continues to evolve with a considered and intentional series of new releases. A new Gunmetal colour brings a fresh new look to the Central Workstation Series, while the introduction of the Cologne, Seville and Prague pull-out mixer ranges offers new contemporary lines, textures and colourways to explore.

Completing the latest releases is the UBD4023.41, a practical bowl-and-a-half sink with an integrated drainer, designed specifically with New Zealand kitchens in mind.

Whether functionality, design, or both is your main focus, Mercer's product line-up has all your bases covered.

Award-winning designer brings together a richly layered material palette in this considered and intentional interior, with our Prime Melamine – Bavarian Oak helping shape a bar designed as a natural gathering point within the home.

Light and dark timbers sit alongside brushed bronze accents and a bold titanium gold benchtop, creating a moody, sculptural setting that feels both expressive and refined.

Beyond the bar, Bavarian Oak extends further into the home, bringing a deeper woodgrain finish, paired with Viola tiles beautifully compliment and create an inviting harmony to the central living space.
