🌕 From “Unknown Faces” to “Moon Festival People”

Last night, we came together to mark the launch of the 2026 Auckland Moon Festival Month.

Before the evening began, we looked back at our 2025 Auckland Moon Festival through a short documentary.

At the end of that film, there was one simple phrase:

“无名的人” - “The Unknown People.”

But last night, Mr Wang, Director of the Auckland China Cultural Centre, shared a beautiful thought:

“At the Moon Festival, we are not unknown people. We are all Moon Festival people.” 🌕

Because behind every festival, there are so many people quietly making it happen.

The people preparing the activities.
The volunteers working behind the scenes.
The performers on stage.
The partners and sponsors supporting the festival.
The photographers capturing every moment.
And every visitor who comes to share the celebration.

When we gather beneath the same moon, every one of us becomes part of the story.

From “无名的人” in 2025,
to “月亮节人” in 2026.

This year, the moon brings us together once again. 🌕

Mid-Autumn Festival is a time for reunion - gathering with family, sharing good food, and remembering those who are close to our hearts.

🏮🌕 Moon Festival Month | EP.2 - Lantern Painting at Remuera Library

Yesterday, we brought a little Moon Festival spirit to Remuera Library! ✨

Families and friends came together to paint their own lanterns, adding colourful designs and personal touches to each one. 🎨🏮

It was lovely to see the library filled with creativity, laughter and a little bit of Mid-Autumn magic. 🌕✨

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the afternoon so special!

🏮 A little taste of Moon Festival at Auckland Central Library 🌕

Today, we kicked off our Auckland Moon Festival pre-event activities at Auckland Central Library!

It was a lovely afternoon of creativity, with families and friends coming together to paint their own lanterns 🎨🏮

From moon and jade rabbits 🌕🐇 to flowers and all kinds of creative designs, every lantern had its own personality.

There was plenty of painting, chatting, smiling and, of course, lots of photos along the way! 📸✨

Thank you to everyone who joined us today, and a big thank you to Auckland Central Library for supporting this special community activity.

And this is just the beginning! 🌕
