Work is what allows us to create meaning and purpose in our lives. But it’s only by working well that we can sustainably achieve this. At PEP, we believe that understanding the nuances of how we work holds the key to unlocking our true capacity. We don’t stop the busy; we help you streamline it so it no longer overwhelms you. It’s about liberating you from unproductive habits and equipping you with new ones - so you face less complexity and wasted time, fewer interruptions, meaningless tasks or meetings. Just clarity, control and unbridled performance.

What makes The Leadership Edge so effective isn’t just what you learn - it’s how you learn it. That’s what sets it apart.

Delivered as three half-day workshops, spaced weeks apart
Each workshop is followed with focused 1:1 coaching sessions for each leader translating theory into practice.

This rhythm creates space for reflection, practice, and progress between sessions- so leaders can test ideas in their own environments, refine what works, and return ready to build on it. It’s how sustainable transformation takes root.

Every concept is grounded in proven frameworks and immediately applied to real-world challenges, ensuring the learning sticks and the impact lasts.

But don’t take our word for it. Hear it from our participants…

Even the most capable leaders can hit a point where the way they work stops working for them.

That’s where one senior leader found herself - returning from parental leave, overwhelmed, and questioning whether she could stay in a job she loved;
“I first came across PEP when I returned from Parental Leave and was struggling to the point of considering resigning from a job that I loved. The PEP program was offered to me as a support mechanism. It fundamentally changed how I worked and allowed me to achieve what I needed to achieve every day and feel successful.”

That turning point reshaped not just how she worked - but how she led.
Since then, she’s introduced PEP to every team she’s led, unlocking capability, clarity and confidence across the board.

“From simple epiphanies about using your tools better, to deep discoveries like spending time on what truly matters - the value PEP unlocks - for individuals and teams - is powerful.”

We’re lucky to work with some truly incredible people at PEP - and David Keelty is one of them.

David wears a few hats in life, including one in high performance sports, but the common thread in everything he does is helping people perform at their best- in a way that’s actually sustainable.

He brings such a calm, grounded energy to his facilitation, and we’ve seen first-hand the impact that has on people. One of our favourite things he said in a recent team catch up:

“The shift I love most is when people go from feeling like work just happens to them… to feeling confident and in control of their workflow. You can actually see the lightness in them by the end of the program.”

How good is that??

He also shared one of his go-to productivity mindsets: You’ll never get to the end of your to-do list. So focus on what truly matters - and give that your best energy.

David’s been using PEP’s WRAP tool (Pause, review, plan) every Friday for the past eight years- and says it helps him go into the weekend with a clearer head and be more present at home with his family. We just love that.

And in case you’re wondering, yes, he will absolutely dominate the playlist at any social event. 🎶

We’re so proud to have people like David delivering this work. The ripple effect is real.

Alumni Spotlight: Helen Thoday – Leading with clarity, coordination and calm confidence

As General Manager of Service Delivery for the North Island at OSPRI, Helen Thoday brings a sharp strategic mind, a deep commitment to public-good outcomes, and a natural ability to lead high-performing teams across complex environments.
And she credits one particular program with helping her sharpen the systems behind that success.

“PEP has hands down been the most impactful training I’ve come across for everyday effectiveness,” says Helen, who was first introduced to the program at over eight years ago through Murphy. Led by McFadden, that early Foundation course focused on building strong digital systems and boosting performance across the board - including helping teams transition away from paper-based ways of working.

“I absorbed everything Jo had to offer. There was a real shift at the time - scientists were literally loading up wheelie bins of paper between PEP sessions! I think our floor lost a few tonnes in weight during that course.”

But it wasn’t just about clearing paper. For Helen, the enduring power of PEP has always been in the clarity it brings.

“At all levels, people enjoy working with clear-thinking, well-organised people. It makes it easier to work with, for, and lead them. Some people have to try harder than others to create that outcome - and PEP can help anyone along the continuum of personal efficiency.”

Helen now shares the tools and insights of PEP with her team at OSPRI, and sees the value in extending that work further. “Getting people coordinated and working together at their best is a persistent challenge - PEP helps enormously with that. The people at PEP are so talented. They have solutions and gems for such a wide range of challenges.”

Her favourite tool? “The power of my calendar. I’ve never looked back. It honestly unnerves me when I see someone else’s calendar is empty.”

Thank you, Helen, for your leadership - and for championing performance through purpose, systems and people.

One thing I'm often discussing with our clients, is how they can effectively support and retain high performing teams and it’s not just about giving people the latest tools.

The real magic happens when people shift the way they work.
And I'm very proud to say, that's PEP's true power.

We’ve been specialising in this space for over 35 years, and as New Zealand’s productivity experts, it’s what we’re passionate about.

We work with businesses across industries to help their people adopt the behaviours, habits, and tools that drive focus, flow, and real performance.

Yes, tech is part of it, especially Microsoft 365 tools, but the deeper transformation happens when people learn to:

- Manage their time, energy and attention more effectively
- Prioritise what really matters
- Work in more connected, collaborative ways
- Create space to innovate, instead of just keeping up

When your people work this way, progress gets easier.
Results come faster.
And that big-picture vision? It suddenly feels a lot more achievable.

This is what people tell us after PEP.

A special visit to one of our long-standing client partners, Fisher and Paykel Healthcare.

As a team, we had the privilege of touring their incredible facility yesterday and gaining deeper insight into the people, purpose and innovation that drive their work. We’ve been partnering with Fisher & Paykel Healthcare for 14 years, supporting their people through PEP programs that help them work well, to focus on what truly matters and grow capability.

What makes this partnership even more meaningful is the shared belief in purposeful work. Fisher & Paykel Healthcare is driven by a bold and compassionate mission:
Improving care and outcomes through inspired, world-leading healthcare solutions.

Their legacy of innovation began right here in New Zealand in 1969 with a prototype humidifier made from a fruit preserving jar – a brilliant example of Kiwi ingenuity meeting urgent clinical need. Today, their medical devices and therapies support over 20 million patients globally, improving outcomes across acute and chronic respiratory care, surgery, and sleep apnea treatment.

A massive thank you to Fiona Cresswell and Scott Tatom and everyone that spent time showing us around and for the continued opportunity to support the incredible work you do. You truly live and breathe care-by-design.

Mid-year is a natural pause point. It's a chance to look back, take stock, and reset your focus for the rest of 2025.

At PEP, we see reflection as a necessary step for effective leadership. It sharpens your priorities, protects your time, and creates the space to focus on what really matters.

So as we move into the second half of the year, try asking yourself:

* What’s been a highlight - and why?
* When did I feel most in flow?
* What habits are helping, and which are quietly working against me?
* What’s one shift I want to make from here?

And don’t forget the WRAP - Weekly Review and Action Plan.
It’s not just about planning the week ahead. The review is where the learning happens - helping you stay tuned in and adjust before things spiral.

Investing time for reflection now can be the catalyst for a clearer, calmer, more focused second half of the year.
