Alongside the managing of a successful service Industry Margaret began importing from the Netherlands. As of February 7, 2014, Margaret began importing and distributing the latest 21st century design, OBSERV 520, 520+AIS and in 2021 the 520 X :diagnostic skin analysis devices to the New Zealand Markets. Margaret states, “After consulting with my accountant each quarter, attending annually three learning courses and regularly meeting with staff and clientele to glean ideas and test measures of success, this ownership structure has stood the test of time as the business continues to flourish in the Beauty Therapy and Hairdressing market.”

Grateful After 6 Inspiring Days in New Zealand
After spending six incredible days visiting clinics across New Zealand, and now continuing my journey in Australia, I want to take a moment to thank everyone who welcomed me so openly. It was truly special to meet so many dedicated professionals and experience the unique spirit of this Beauty Industry.
 
A heartfelt thank you to Margaret Walsh: your passion, drive, and dynamic energy are truly remarkable. I deeply appreciated your time, your insights, and the inspiration you radiate.
 
What impressed me most throughout my visits was how genuinely practitioners in New Zealand care for their patients. Education, safety, quality in treatment outcomes, and continuous innovation are really at the core of their daily practice. It’s wonderful to see such commitment to meaningful results and patient wellbeing.

The dilemma of the seemingly satisfied client / patient !

Do you offer such fascinating skin knowledge on the functionality of their own skin that clients become your absolute clinic ambassadors?

These ambassadors ask your advice first and insist all of their friends come to your clinic.

Clients must be informed about their skin and the underlying causes of conditions that need a manager - their management team is you + client.

Clients must be listened to , seen , feel informed with skin science knowledge and guided through a Programme of results based care.

These ambassadors will want to purchase your “at home equipment “and continue treating their skin in a meaningful science based manner.

Dear Clients /Patients -

Are you aware that “Every Skin tells a Story.”…and your skin story is unique and deserves a quiet one to one chat with a skin therapist.

Is this you ?

Let’s have this conversation the has been started by !

My thoughts ,as a business clinic owner for 30 years ,were always embedded in the level and philosophy of “the education and ongoing education “ that came with the brands I stocked in clinic.

I sold my last clinic 4.2 years ago and I enjoyed exclusivity.
I continued to import and distribute the devices and am now in my 12th year of distribution - my OBSERV enthusiasts always say it’s my education and knowledge of the device that allows them to say yes to adding this device onto their clinical setting.

In my mind I am very clear that a science based skin foundation style education is essential when stocking a clinical brand and I favour #2 on my list 🩵 .

Where do you stand as a 2026 business owner ?

2. Online behind your code for your clients only
3.Open to all online
4. In selected retail stores only that have skin therapists as consultants
