A mother of three, she was crowned Mrs Universe New Zealand and Mrs Universe Businesswoman 2019 on the international stage—truly a powerhouse of passion, purpose, and service. She is a Business Development Manager and Financial Adviser with over a decade of experience in Life and Health Insurance, Mortgages, and Investments, helping families not only secure but protect and grow their wealth.
As the Director of House of Musa NZ, Carmela courageously brought this movement to New Zealand in 2023—championing Philippine culture and heritage, empowering underprivileged communities, and creating livelihood opportunities for women, children, local artisans, and designers. Her efforts were recognized when she was awarded the Filipino-Kiwi Hero 2024 Business Achiever Award by Filipino Migrant News for bringing House of Musa to New Zealand.
She is passionate about sustainable fashion, combining her love for style with purpose and advocacy to inspire change and create meaningful impact.
Carmela is also deeply committed to supporting migrants settling in New Zealand—volunteering her time and continuously giving back to the community. She is one of the most sought-after personalities across the country, known for modeling, singing, and performing—always using her platform to uplift and inspire others.
Even from afar, she believes we can still love, celebrate, and promote Philippine culture and its people, and she continues to do so through her work, advocacy, and heart for family and community.
