The first few of a series I will be doing of Dignan St community gardens in Pt Chevalier 🌱
The gardens have recently celebrated their 10 year anniversary and Hua parakore certification, which is an organic kaupapa Māori (Indigenous) system and framework for growing kai.
I will be documenting the gardens over the next while with a particular focus on the Kūmara revitalisation project the team are currently working on. I will post more on that project at the end when we get to see 15 different varieties of kūmara harvested, which have been collected from all around Aotearoa.
