Biosecurity has never tasted so good! 🤤 For our staff morning tea yesterday, Marcie and Jo (with some help from Meeia and Bailey) handmade a selection of food inspired by biosecurity contamination.

It was a fun way to get the team talking about the pests, seeds, soil, and other unwanted contaminants we work hard to keep out of our beautiful country.

Activities like this are a great team-building exercise, but they can also help Transitional Facilities meet their annual biosecurity awareness training requirements under TFGEN. Turning what can be a routine requirement into something memorable and engaging.

A recent inspection at an approved Transitional Facility near Taupō led to the detection of a dead snake and suspected brown marmorated stink bugs within an imported consignment.

Thanks to the worker's quick action and adherence to procedures, the container was secured immediately and inspected by Biosecurity New Zealand officers.

This is a reminder that thorough inspections and trained personnel play a critical role in protecting New Zealand from unwanted biosecurity risks.

Our boardroom turned into a working port for a morning. 🚢

Sam and Matt joined the LinerGame Industry Open Workshop, running a shipping line with a LEGO vessel standing in for the real thing: booking cargo, planning stowage, and trying to keep capacity and revenue balanced without sinking anyone's schedule.

Turns out a LEGO ship teaches you more about liner shipping than you'd expect, and a captain's hat never hurts either.
