🚧 Watercare Works Update | Silverdale

A heads-up for businesses, customers and anyone travelling through the Waterloo Road/Wainui Road area.

Watercare has advised that works on the Silverdale West Water Servicing Project are now expected to continue until February 2027, following the discovery of additional underground services that need to be relocated.

Current works are focused around the Wainui Road roundabout, with a major water network connection planned for mid-September.

As works progress, expect temporary traffic management around Waterloo Road, Wainui Road and Argent Lane, including stop/go controls, reduced lane widths, lower speed limits and some temporary road, footpath and cycleway diversions.

Please allow a little extra time when travelling through the area and support our local businesses while these important infrastructure works are underway.

Have your say on the proposed Route 989 extension

Auckland Transport is proposing to extend bus route 989 to serve more of Milldale and Millwater, while improving connections to Highgate Business Park and Silverdale Centre.

Two route options are being considered:

• Option A: Via Bonair Crescent
• Option B: Via Wainui Road

Auckland Transport is seeking feedback on the preferred route, operating hours and general bus stop locations.

Public drop-in sessions: Come along to meet one-on-one with members of Auckland Transport’s project team and discuss the proposals.

We love seeing practical improvements like this in Silverdale!

The new bus shelters on Silverdale Street are now complete, providing much-needed cover and seating at this highly utilised bus stop in the heart of Central Silverdale.

It might seem like a small change, but for the many people who use this stop every day, it makes public transport that little bit easier and more convenient.

A big thank you to the Hibiscus & Bays Local Board for supporting and investing in this improvement for our area.

Great to see projects like this delivering real value for Silverdale.

Today, the Silverdale Business team visited Woven Earth ’s new warehouse and met with Kerryn and her wonderful team.

Woven Earth creates safe, warm and fully furnished homes for family violence survivors and their children. It was inspiring to see the generosity behind every donated item and the care that goes into supporting several families each week.

Their impact is remarkable:

❤️ 3,255 lives empowered
