Envirocon is New Zealand’s only construction related Product Stewardship Scheme accredited under the Waste Minimisation Act 2008.

The Scheme provides a standard, sustainable, and credible waste management solution to the ready mix concrete and construction industries. The aim of the scheme is to repurpose waste and surplus concrete in its uncured (wet) state. By doing this Envirocon removes the need to use the current environmentally damaging and resource intensive waste management processes. Instead, Envirocon creates susta

inable products and employment. The Envirocon Scheme is collaboration of some of New Zealand’s leading ready mix concrete brands - Allied Concrete and Stevenson Concrete. However, new members are always welcome to join the Scheme. In addition Envirocon provides ad hoc disposal services to smaller operators where required. As a sign of their commitment to improving the environmental performance of their businesses and the wider industry, members has signed up to ambitious, yet achievable, goals. The Scheme will achieve these goals by developing new technologies that fundamentally change the way wet waste and surplus concrete is processed. Importantly the Scheme will cover all batching waste streams - wet surplus and waste concrete, waste water, and batching fines.
