Inailau Coffee Connect

We attended the monthly Inailau Coffee Connect by Inailau Pacific Business Women's Network , a space that continues to bring together women in business for connection, encouragement and practical support.

For this event, we sponsored three women to attend. This included one of our recent TAUTAI Membership™ members, one business from the PBT cohort, and Auva’a Time Leavasa, who came across the event on social media.

After hearing more about the work we do, Auva’a came into the Hub after the event, signed up to TAUTAI Membership™, and we got straight into helping her prepare for the opening of Glorious Eatery & BBQ.

Our support included helping connect her with suppliers, putting key systems in place, connecting her with our in-Hub accountant, creating a dedicated business email, setting up a page, and supporting her Stripe sign-up for temporary payment support.

There is still more work ahead, but this is exactly why practical business support matters.

Sometimes people do not need a long report or a complicated process. They need someone to sit with them, understand what needs to be done, and help get the right foundations in place.

UPDATE: Auvaa has since launched & opened her food business "Glorious Eatery & BBQ" located at 628 Great South Road, Otahuhu. Everytime she needs help & support she pops in to see us. She attended the October Inailau Coffee Connect & made new contacts & is getting financial support from another connection - we will share this in our November newsletter 😊

PBT & Startup Businesses

We hosted Pacific Business Trust and some startup businesses at the Hub as part of our current business support work.

This was an opportunity to connect directly with businesses at an early stage, understand where they are at, and understand what support they need to take the next step.

Much of this work is practical and hands-on. For some businesses, it starts with getting the basics in place — a business email, a page, clear service information, branding, customer records, quotations, invoicing, or a simple process for following up leads.

Every business is different, and ultimately each owner decides how they want to run their business.

Our role is to walk alongside them, help identify what needs attention, and support them to put stronger systems and processes in place so they can move forward with more confidence.

September was especially meaningful for us as we farewelled Caroline Falemaka-Bell Moors, who has been part of The Pacific Business Hub for the past two and a half years.

Caroline has been such a blessing to our Hub, our team, our members, our tenants and the many people who have walked through our doors. As the right-hand woman to our CEO, she has played a key role in the day-to-day running of the Hub, carrying so much of what happens behind the scenes with care and commitment.

Over the years, we entrusted Caroline with making decisions and managing our daily operations. From supporting tenants, members and clients to organising, following up, solving problems and welcoming people through our doors, she has helped keep the Hub moving.

Caroline also supported our recent rebranding, the last major project she undertook before finishing with us. She is a talented designer, and we are grateful for the creativity and eye for detail she brought to shaping this next chapter of TPBH.

Alongside her contribution, we have had the privilege of watching Caroline grow in confidence, capability and direction. While it is hard to farewell someone who has become such a valued part of our Hub aiga, we are proud to see her pursue her dreams, her own business aspirations and full-time studies.

On 18 September, we held a small and intimate afternoon tea to celebrate Caroline and farewell her. Thank you to our Hub tenants who made time to attend, bring gifts, share kind words and celebrate her with us. Your presence made the afternoon especially meaningful.

Caroline’s journey reflects something we have always hoped for at the Hub, a place where people are supported, discover what they are capable of and gain the confidence to take their next steps.

Caroline, fa’afetai tele lava. We acknowledge you and we thank you for your service, your heart, your humour, your care and everything you have contributed to TPBH. We are grateful to have shared these past two and a half years with you, and we wish you every blessing as you begin this next chapter 🙏🏽❤️

HAPPY OCTOBER 😊🌺

We hope you have all had a good start to Spring.

September brought longer days, a change in season, and with daylight saving now here, it feels like the year has shifted into a new pace.

For us, September was a meaningful month. There were new beginnings, important conversations, business support milestones, community events, media opportunities, personal celebrations, and one very special farewell.

Read all about it in our October Newsletter:

#28 August | Visit from KT's Office Hub

We had a lovely visit from Katie Tusa, founder of KT’s Office Hub, based in Redbank, Ipswich, Greater Brisbane.

While she was briefly in Aotearoa visiting family, she walked past our office, recognised the Hub, and decided to come in and have a look.

It was such a pleasure to meet Katie in person who has been following The Pacific Business Hub for some time on social media. It was great to hear a little more about her business, and connect as fellow Pacific business owners supporting others through practical services, administration and business support.

These moments remind us how powerful visibility and connection can be — sometimes online relationships become real-life connections simply because people see the work, feel connected to it, and choose to walk through the door.

Thank you Katie 🙏🏽😊

| Frequency of Success

Our CEO Laura Keil-Hall had the privilege of attending Frequency of Success on August 16, organised by Nora Swann, Wyndi Tagi and Mathilde Houlet.

This was a beautiful and different kind of business event. It created space for women to step away from the busyness of business and reconnect with themselves, their vision, their confidence and the energy they bring into their work.

The day brought together styling and self-expression, business strategy, mindset, manifestation and sound healing. It was peaceful, grounding and refreshing, while still being practical and purposeful.

It was also important for Laura, to be there to support Nora and Wyndi, who she knows personally, and to acknowledge the work they and Mathilde are doing to create spaces that support women in business in a more holistic way.

For The Pacific Business Hub, it was a valuable reminder that business growth is not only about strategy, systems and numbers. It is also about the person behind the business — their clarity, wellbeing, confidence and ability to show up fully in the work they are called to do.

We acknowledge Nora, Wyndi and Mathilde for creating such a meaningful space, and for reminding us that success can also be calm, intentional and deeply connected 🧘🏽‍♀️💫🙏🏽

| Visit to Parker's Minimart

While in Wellington, we also had the opportunity to stop in and visit Parker’s Minimart at 25 Hankey Street, Mount Cook, Wellington.

It was lovely to have a brief catch-up with Seiuli Verona Tapu Ah Ching Parker and Justin Parker, who have a long history in business and service across Samoa and now in Aotearoa.

These visits are special for The Pacific Business Hub because they remind us of the real people, families and stories behind our Pacific businesses.

We acknowledge Seiuli Verona and Justin for the work they continue to do through Parker’s Minimart, and it was a privilege to stop in, support, and reconnect while we were in Wellington.
