We were recently fortunate enough to be one of the supporters of an event featuring legendary British conservationist Dr. Jane Goodall while she was visiting New Zealand for her Reasons for Hope tour. Held at the New Zealand Parliament building in the presence of the Governor-General, Her Excellency the Rt Hon Dame Cindy Kiro and the Hon Tama Potaka, Minister for Conservation, Dr. Goodall made a short address and then participated in an armchair conversation facilitated by Forest and Bird CEO Nicola Toki during which she spoke about how she first developed her interest in conservation and about the challenges we are now facing in conserving our resources and protecting the environment. She highlighted the importance of empowering young people to take action but emphasized that we all need to be accountable and work together to get the best outcomes. The BNZBA was delighted to be involved in supporting such an inspiring event and we were privileged to work with such a great group of partners British Council New Zealand Royal Society Te Apārangi Tonkin + Taylor Forest & Bird DLA Piper
Our thanks also to the Jane Goodall Institute for their support of this event.

To stay a leader in global food production New Zealand needs to remain competitive and respond to changing food market dynamics and consumer demands in the developed markets of the UK, EU and North America, as well as the growth markets in Asia and Latin America. This will require the New Zealand food sector to invest in technology, production processes and other capabilities to create resilient and innovative food production systems. Hear our expert panel of Prem Maan, Craig Armstrong, Lee-Ann Marsh, and Grant Verry moderated by Dr Victoria Hatton discuss the current innovation landscape, the role of government and industry bodies in supporting New Zealand's growth in the global food sector, and the opportunities and challenges arising from future market growth.
