Today, 2 June 2026, we celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Italian Republic, established following the 1946 referendum that marked the democratic choice of the Italian people in the aftermath of the Second World War.

This historic milestone not only gave birth to the Republic but also represented a significant step forward for civil rights in Italy. For the first time, Italian women were granted the right to vote and to participate fully in shaping the country's future.

As we celebrate 80 years of the Republic, we honour the democratic values, freedom, and equality that continue to inspire Italy today.

The Italian Chamber of Commerce in New Zealand was delighted to host a special edition of our Aperitivo at Maserati Auckland, celebrating 100 years since the debut of the first Trident-badged Maserati race car (April 1926).

It was a memorable evening honouring one of the most iconic symbols of Made in Italy excellence. The legendary Tipo 26, produced in only 11 examples between 1926 and 1932, represents not only Maserati’s racing origins but also a defining moment in global automotive history.

Guests enjoyed a truly Italian experience, with exceptional hospitality at Maserati Auckland, gourmet finger food by Spiga, and a curated wine selection from ICCNZ members JK14 Wines, Sapori, and Arianova.

The evening was enriched by warm networking, vibrant conversations, and the strong sense of community that defines our Chamber.
