Today we unveiled SkyGuard at the NZ Data Centre Leaders Summit and were blown away by the level of interest and conversations throughout the day.

One thing was clear from conversations throughout the day: organisations are facing the same challenges that SkyGuard was designed to solve.

Today is International Security Officers' Day.

Celebrated on 24 July, the date represents something our people know all too well: security never stops. It's a profession that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, often behind the scenes, ensuring others can go about their day safely.

Today is about recognising the resilience, professionalism, and commitment of security officers everywhere, and especially the incredible people who wear the Red Badge uniform.

Whether they're protecting major events, patrolling communities, supporting businesses, welcoming visitors, responding to incidents, or simply providing reassurance when it's needed most, our officers make a difference every single day.

Security is often at its best when it's unnoticed, but the people behind it deserve to be seen.

To all of our security officers across Aotearoa, thank you for your professionalism, your dedication, and for showing up day after day to help keep people, places, and communities safe.

Congratulations to our very own Simon Mackereth on being named the winner of the Outstanding Young Security Professional award at the 2026 New Zealand OSPAs. 👏

This award recognises young professionals who are making a significant impact on New Zealand's security industry, and there is no one more deserving.

Over the past five years, Simon has built an outstanding reputation for leading with integrity, developing great people, and delivering measurable results for our customers. From strengthening security operations and reducing incidents across major customer sites, to launching new services, improving staff retention, and helping develop training programmes that have positively impacted more than 400 security officers nationwide, Simon's influence reaches far beyond his day-to-day role.

What stands out most, though, is the way Simon leads. He backs his people, builds strong relationships with customers, embraces every challenge, and is always looking for ways to raise the standard of our industry.

Simon represents exactly what Red Badge is all about - professionalism, innovation, and a genuine commitment to keeping people and communities safer.

Three awards. One incredible achievement. Congratulations to Agnes Faafiti, our 2026 Culture Champion, Operations Person of the Year, and Supreme Winner!

Winning three awards in one night, including our highest individual honour, is a reflection of the impact Agnes has had across Red Badge.

As part of her nomination, one of the comments that stood out was:

"Agnes uplifts those around her, makes the workplace a better place to be, leads by example, and genuinely cares about both people and outcomes. What we love most is that none of this is done for recognition. It's simply who she is."
