Whether you like sailing or not; whether you think it might be rich people playing with toys, there is a fantastic story in what TNZ has achieved. Pushing the boundaries of kiwi innovation, strong individual leadership from a large number of people and the concept of team work. It's great to see these things done incredibly well and by kiwis. Worth tuning in to so you can see what they did.

He is very much an expert in franchising and has a strong network throughout NZ. Such a great article. Being able to look at ourselves and what we do well is important. More important is being able to recognise what we need to do to change to be more effective. I've got to say I'm working with some great people who are giving it a good go !

Really enjoying my work at the moment. Spending time with small business leaders who want to be smarter about how the manage their people...but also getting more balance in their lives by being more effective. It's not easy but it is very doable.

Many of you will know that I am a huge Radio NZ fan. They have some great interviews. This one was interesting for a number of reasons. For me, it was because the author has made a conscious effort to look at what is most important in life, what satisfies her, and then focusing on making it happen. Sounds easy but how often do we all stop to do that. Well worth a listen

Reading a great book at the moment, Legacy by James Kerr. So good to see the mental focus and support that the All Blacks have received over the years - along with Graham Henry's focus on continuous learning. The book also reflects on how this is often lacking in our business leaders. I see so much opportunity for people to be more satisfied and successful in what they do by focusing on getting their thinking (and mental processes) more effective. A great read - rugby fan or not.
