When should you start watering your lawn in spring?

In New Zealand, late September to early October is generally a good time to start thinking about your lawn’s watering needs.

But there’s no set date. It really depends on the weather, rainfall and how much moisture is still in the soil.

Before turning your irrigation back on, check the soil below the surface. If it’s still damp, your lawn may not need watering yet. As temperatures rise and rainfall becomes less consistent, you can gradually increase watering.

A few things to remember:
