Over the past 10 weeks, we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming five student interns from the University of Auckland to Moana Connect - Leilani, Alice, Alyssa, Nerony & Tuifua.
 
Throughout their placements, they’ve contributed to meaningful research and health-focused projects, putting their learning into practice while gaining valuable experience and developing skills for their future careers.
 
We’re grateful for the time, effort and fresh perspectives they’ve brought to our team. It’s always a privilege to support the next generation of health professionals, and we wish them all the very best as they continue their journeys! 💙

A wonderful day of learning, connection, and community at the Birthing Centre!

Members from our churches, schools, early childhood education centres (ECEs), and sports groups came together to complete a First Aid Course facilitated by Action for Survival and hosted by Moana Connect.

Thank you to everyone who attended and invested in building the skills and confidence needed to keep our families, children, and communities safe. Together, we continue to strengthen our villages through learning, preparedness, and care.

Celebrating 10 years of Pasefika Proud 🌺🧡

Over the past couple of years, Moana Connect have worked alongside the Ministry of Social Development and Pacific communities to evaluate the impact of Pasefika Proud, Aotearoa’s landmark Pacific family violence prevention programme. 

The findings highlight the power of community-led action: stronger connections, healthier relationships, greater cultural pride, growing Pacific leadership, and increased confidence to prevent violence in ways that are grounded in and strengthen our cultures and values. 

Most importantly, the evaluation reminds us that Pacific communities hold the solutions, and that together we can continue building safer futures for generations to come. 💙🌊
