It’s late winter, and pregnant rats are aggressively building their nests to prepare for spring litters. And they aren't picky about their building materials.
In our years of crawling through Auckland ceilings, the team at No Rats and Mice has found some incredibly bizarre rodent nests. They will shred and steal almost anything to stay warm.
We’ve found nests made entirely out of:
Stolen wool socks and underwear
Shredded $20 notes (an expensive bed!)
Dog hair hoarded from the living room rug.
Decades-old family photo albums
If you have items stored in your attic or garage in cardboard boxes, they are prime real estate for a heavily pregnant rat looking for a cozy maternity ward.
Protect your memories (and your socks). Upgrade to hard plastic storage tubs, and let us secure your roof space!
Have you ever found a chewed-up treasure in your garage?
